We are not used to City hotels, and didn't expect quality or a restful stay. However, we were amazed at the quality of this hotel - and the peaceful location, situated in a quiet area only a short walk from Potzdamerplatz and all its restaurants ( but we did ask for a quiet room prior to our arrival, and was... Recently stayed here as part of a two location stay with Riviera Travel. The hotel is beautifully decorated throughout, and the rooms were clean and spacious. Champagne breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The hotel is situated near the Tiergarten, and about 10 minutes walk from Potsdamerplatz and a good choice of restaurants. Ideally situated with a good bus route... More

Although this Maritim hasn't quite got the personality of its Dresden cousin it is a large, quality hotel next to the Tiergarten park and a short taxi ride/number 100 bus ride to Museum Island. They don't offer a range of pillows as they do in Dresden but order extra if you find the ones on the bed too flat. We... More

Slightly off the beaten track but only about a ten minute walk to Potsdamer Platz and bus stops near by so no probs there. Spacious rooms, nice bathrooms and comfy bed. Breakfast buffet really great with loads of choices including bottles of fizz! Nice bar area and efficient staff throughout. Plenty of maps and helpfull concierge desk. would happily stay... More

Visited Berlin last week. Stayed at the Maritim near the Tiergarten area of Berlin. A nicely located quiet area in a busy city. The Hotel facilities are very good, the reataurant and especially the breakfast area. It is a very large hotel but is next to Government buildings so is well protected. Ideally situated for the Tiergarten area, Brandenburg Gate,... More

The hotel is well located, good public transportation options near by. Staff was nice enough. Great breakfast buffet! The rooms are nice and clean. It's not new, but well kept. Only disadvantage was the lack of proper ventilation...

The hotel is located within walking distance to the Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburger Tor. The first expression when you walk in is very nice with a nice lobby. Check-in was done quickly with a smile. When entering the room you feel set back 20 years with a small CRT TV, two single beds pushed together with a space between... More

This is a really classy hotel, but Berlin is at present a building site, which spoils the overall impression of the hotel. Situated within easy walking distance of lots of Berlins famous sites and very close to the Tier Garden. The only downside is the lifts are full of mirrors which can make you very self conscious.

A good quality modern hotel 10 mins from Potsdammer Platz, so very convenient for the City. Good sized comfortable rooms, clean and well appointed apart from the TV which probably originated in the Communist era. However, with so much to do it was hardly used and then useless anyway. Smart common areas, excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. Recommended for... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
