This is a nicely appointed hotel which is poorly located for tourists. It is in the embassy district and not near any restaurants, shops or convenience stores. Stayed here on a Grand Circle trip. Accidentally left camera in room, and called hotel within an hour of leaving. First they said the room "had not been cleaned yet." When we called... More

Dear guest, With regret we have read your negative review about our hotel. Unfortunately, you were not satisfied with the location. Our hotel has a 10 minutes walking distance to the Potsdamer Platz, where you find a lot of restaurants, shops etc. In fact, the next metro station is around 15 minutes walking distance, but we have several bus stops... If your idea of sound accommodation and service includes the following: - overwhelming odour of cigarette smoke in the room (strongly immersed into the bedding) - Pre-historic television set that fails to change channel and turns off on its own. - Meals from the menu that arrive cold after 1 hour of waiting. then this hotel is certainly worth considering.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. Unfortunately, you stayed in a smoking room. Of... More

and nice location. One must take public transportation to the center, but this is quite easy. This hotel attracts many big conferences. The breakfast buffet is wonderful. The staff are quite helpful. There is a very nice lobby bar and the lobby restaurant is fairly good. The rooms are large & comfortable, with bath tubs.

Stayed in this hotel for a conference and was quite charmed by its convenience and comfort. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and are very spacious. The breakfast is amazing......I would recommend that you skip the lunch afterwards :-) The only disadvantage is that it is a bit outside of the center (Potsdamer Platz is about 1km), so... More

We ended up staying in Berlin for an extra night and the rate at our previous hotel had gone sky-high. The Maritim was a bargain online as a secret deal so we figured that it was worth the chance. For the price we paid I can’t really complain. The room was well maintained, albeit kind of daggy and ready for... More

So this is supposed to be a business hotel. Checkin is at 15h, but if you arrive early, they wont give you internet access and try to sell you a 5 euro voucher. Absolutely unacceptable. Thats like charging for the restrooms before checkin. The rest was ok, nirmal business rooms, lifeless but clean. Breakfast was great, except they have only... More

Nice rooms, great service, strange thermostats, location near embassies, Berliner Philharmoniker, Potsdamer Platz, and the peaceful Tiergarten. Now, breakfast. You will need to stay for several days to eat or even DISCOVER it all. There are eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, croissants, breads, cereals, fruit, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt. small cakes, jams, jellies, peanut butter, Nutella. They provide a carafe... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and can't fault the hotel for the standard of service, cleanliness and facilities - given the price, it represents excellent value. The staff in the Bar are particularly friendly and helpful. With the proximity to Potsdamer Platz the rail to the Schoenefeld airport we will probably stay here again next time we visit this... All good. Maybe new TV 😉. It's really close to the nice club Havana, where you can Dance all the Latin dance and it is not so expensive. The Staff is friendly and helpful, the atmosphere perfect and the Hotel really clean. I can recommend for everyone.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
