Please avoid this place unless you are used to really bad living conditions and ugly environments ... If you have to go there, just don't accept room #9, called "Check Point Charlie". It smells awful, has a filthy carpet on the floor, shower is in a cupboard, terrible decorations, colors and posters on the walls reminding of nazi movies, furniture... More

This hotel looks like a small cosy livingroom when you walk in. Very small but super clean rooms. Perfect located just behind kurfurstendam. The breakfast was way above expectations. If you look for a cheap but good hotel in the middle of Berlin don't look further.

Some rooms are terrible, dull breakfeast and not very friendly staff. Avoid this hotel for much better ones in the vicinity.

I had a very pleasant stay at hotel Waizenegger. The location is very good in a chic neighbourhood. The old historic building where the hotel is located is very nice. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice in the morning. If I go to Berlin the next time I will stay in this nice hotel again!

I shall be staying at the Waizenegger for the n'th time on 23rd June. It's been my home in Berlin now for several years. I stay there 3 weeks at Christmas, and three in the summer, generally at asparagus time, and before the theatres go on holiday. My regular room was the original LARDER of the old flat, in this lovely... More

I recently stayed at the Hotel-Pension Waizenegger with my wife during a visit to Berlin. Its in a fantastic location closed to public transport links and good shops and restuarants. We were met by the very friendly owner who asked us if we wished to speak in German or English and then he gave us a quick tour. Our room... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
