This Hotel is very conveniently located, within walking distance to bars, restaurants, attractions. Also, bus, underground and S-bahn stations are close, while the Hotel is in a quiet street. It consists in an old building in the front, which has severas apartments and a new building in the back. The apartments in the front building are ample, reclyed to modern... More

The location is ok, the breakfest is absolutely great, but the rooms are very dark as they have the windows towards the inner court. The stuff is not so great. You can surely find better for the money.

Dont take taxi from Tegel, it will be waste of your money. It takes 15-20 min. To go to this htl from txl. Take bus 128 to Kurt-Schumacher- platz and then take U6 direction alt-Mariendorf and get out at natuurkundemuseum. When you get out of the Ubahn walk paralel the invalid strasse. 400 mtr. From U bahn is the hotel.... More

Excellent location, walking distance to a lot of interesting spot. If you do not like to walk a Ubahn station is close (Naturdom museum). Staff is extremely nice. I had a large and confortable room with a modern bathroom. I really liked this place. Taxi costs 18€ to go to Tegel Airport !

The location of the hotel is really good, a few minutes away from the Nature Museum U-bahn and if you enjoy walking it is really close to Friederich strasse which will take you straight to Unter den Linden and as far as to Checkpoint Charlie or the Jewish Museum. Very very close to the Berlin Wall Memorial which is worth... More

Walking distance to a lot of the typical and beloved Prenzlauer Berg restaurants and 1000 feet from the S-Bahn station - putting Berlin at your disposal (beware though: everything is "close" and easily reachable, but nothing is on the spot). Nice, clean and comfortable Hotel, great breakfast, friendly service. The 4th star is debatable, but on the other hand some... More

Our taxi driver had trouble finding Hotel Zarenhof but once there we found it a great location for exploring Berlin and Mitte. Good value for a two-bedroom apartment. Bedrooms laid out so child could go to bed and we didn't have to be too quiet which is great when travelling with a 3-year old. Great bathroom and kitchen! Good size... More

Location average, very dark, not very comfortable rooms, general decor of the hotel is really bizarre. It has a theme of "Tzarist Russia", which they try to achieve by the cheapest plastic gadgets strewn around everywhere, plus by photos on the walls. There is a lot better in the area.

First of all, be aware that there are several 'Hotel Zarenhof' in Berlin. When I booked, I honestly thought its was a different one, but as we where driving and the GPS had the correct address, this was lucky enough no problem. We where 5 adults and 1 child, the 3 adults and the child share the apartment for this... More

If you are participating in the Internatinal Beer Festival in Berlin around the beginning of August this hotel has a perfect location. It is located in a great neighborhood just 500 meter from the festival. It is a really wonderful neighborhood with many small bars, restaurants and a market. The rooms are really nice, clean and spacy. Friendly staff, so... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
