Beds uncomfortable, too hard, breakfast too expensive for what you got, bathrooms looked like they came straight out of RV's, noisy. The location was very good for what we wanted to see, though, so all was not lost.

Nice rooms and welcoming staff. A bit expensive (€15) breakfast, but as it was free for our kids aged 8 and 9, it was anyhow quite affordable. Just over the street from S-bahnhof Anhalter Strasse and bus to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Mix of tourists and business travellers among the guests.

We stayed in a standard apartment on the 6th floor with a view on the Anhalter strasse. Clean, bright windows, separate bath, shower and toilet with ample supplies. Staff was friendly and could recommend good restaurants nearby. The hotel is next to the entrance of the metro, which is only a couple of stops away from the city center. We... More

We stayed here for a long weekend. After reading the TripAdvisor reviews, I requested a room up high facing the Anhalter Strasse. I got one, and I enjoyed the view and silence quite a bit. The staff was friendly and always helpful. All interaction with hotel staff was smooth and friendly. We had breakfast outside the hotel, so I can't... More

Check in was fast and easy. Car parking was underground the hotel and cost 12 euros per day. No on street parking. Hotel is situated about 10 minute walk to checkpoint charlie and 40 minutes from Reichstad. Rooms were large and spacious. Beds were good. Although the hotel has air con, it was not very good.. Nice to have free... More

Great place to stay with your family. There are one double bed and one single bed. They can be individualized with a divider. The breakfast is very good and costs 15 euros each adult, children are free. The localization is excellent, 30 meters away from the Anhalter Banhof station.

I was there with my family at the end of May - beginning of June 2015. This is a very good hotel close to Potsdamer Platz and just a few meters from the S-Bahn Anhalter Bahnhof. I think its position is ideal for visiting Berlin. Clean and tidy as the Novotel standard requires, this hotel offers large rooms with microwave... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in a family suite. The room was clean and the breakfast continental style. The bar prices were reasonable. One shock was the price of the underground parking. 42 euros for the 3 nights we felt was expensive. At least the car was off the road and it felt a safe place to park. This... More

We stayed here for three days at the beginning of our three week trip through Germany. We liked it so much that we arranged to stay here at the end of our trip as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large enough for our group which was one adult and three teenagers. I shared the bed... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
