We visited the restaurant of the hotel often with colleagues for the lunch break. The food quality is good, but the price is a bit higher than the other restaurants in the area. The portions are rather small, so if you are good eater you should get two courses. Often the kitchen is slow, as they do not have the... More

Dear guest, thank you so much for your feedback, this helps a lot. I can understand that the time we need to serve a lunch is very rare. So we need to change the kind of service, of course. We would be glad to get another chance to show that the speed of service will change in future times. Please... More

We wanted to stay in a quiet area, but still close to the Mitte. With both U- and S-Bahn close by this was perfectly situated. We had a large and nice room, and the Villa was a very pleasant place to stay. The service was as expected, friendly and attentive. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel which was... More

We lived in additional building. Room looked like ship cabin. Windows looked out on the river :) Water and weather forecast were given every day. And bottle of sparkling water as a welcome drink. Hotel is located close to city center. Kind and helpful staff.

Abion Villa is part of the Abion Hotel. However, it is housed in a different building. The villa is in Tiergarten right at a riverside. The surrounding is very lovely and quiet. It is an ideal place to be in summer. The villa is across from a S-Bahn station and just a few minutes away from a U-Bahn station. The... More

On a cold yet sunny morning, sometime in December 2003, my friend Peter took me to see parts of Berlin that had been recently redeveloped or were in full change. As such, we walked along the Spree river bank in Moabit, along industrial buildings, the interlacing of iron bridges. Little did I know that, about 10 years later, I would... More

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
