This is a limited service hotel and is good value for money. The rooms are massive compared to the other places we stayed at during our travels in Europe. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, spacious rooms. walking distance to the trams and subway - very easy to access tourist sites. There is a really good 24hour kebab shop just around the... More

Clean, part of the rooms are renovated, big rooms, very good location, good breakfast. The inner rooms are quiet. Close to all kind of public transportation and restaurants. Friendly desk etc. Would certainly recommend to my friends.

Stayed here with my husband & son last April 25 to 27. If you are looking for a simple, clean & organized budget hotel THIS IS IT! We got Room 211, good for 3 pax (can move around the room w/o bumping each other) with comfortable beds & clean & ultra white bed linens & towels. Their toilet & bath... More

Stayed at the Calma Berlin Mitte for two nights in room 203 which is for 3 people. Room was very nice, spacious, and comfortable. Only two issues with the room, the shower was the smallest I've ever seen and would be unusable for a large person. Also the room was quiet with the windows closed but got warm so it... More

Dear guest, thanks a lot for your honest feedback! We are happy you enjoyed your stay although the shower was too small and the street noise was a bit loud. I am very sorry for any inconveniences that caused that! Concerning the Wifi it is a bit difficult for us to check the power but we will always do our... More

The description of the room did not lie. Clean, plenty of room and light. The hotel is close to U-bahn Oranienburger Tor and there are plenty of restaurants around. Even if you want breakfast. The hotel WiFi was strong enough to stream live football. No problems. Bit of noise in the morning from the streets, but thats about it.

The hotel is located in a nice and calm street. Surrounding area (auguststrasse, Tucholskystrasse, Oranienburgerstrasse etc.) has plenty of bars (I really liked Buchhandlung 32 in Tucholsky), restaurants and shops. Public transport (S Oraniennburgerstr. and U Friedrichstrasse ) is very convenient. The room's very clean/modern and smartly used, yet quite compact. People who suffer from dust allergics, please be aware... More

The hotel is really clean and quiet. The staff is nice, helpful and speak a prefect English. For the breakfast the buffet is good and fresh. Specially love the fresh fruits. Only thing that could have been better the pillows. But hell for a couple of night they still can do the trick.

The hotel is very clean and ideally located in a clam street next to plenty of activities and restaurant. The staff is however deeply unwelcoming which really ruins the experience. You need to pay for the wifi.

The hotel is located near a train station Oranienburger Tor and lots of restaurants. If you prefer, you can also walk to wall memorial and Potsdamer Platz. In addition to those facilities, the staff are very nice and friendly. No complaints. Good price, well located and friendly staff.

Came for 5 days got a great deal on hotels.com. Paid at check-in no problems. Code for wi-fi which worked perfectly for as many devices as we needed. Handy location next to underground one stop from frederichstarsse that connects to whole network and airport express. Very clean and tidy, could do with more pillows but that's my only improvement. Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
