I have stayed in Hotel One Berlin Mitte three times and I have enjoyed the stay. For a small hotel on a budget, this one certainly behaves as a big hotel. The reception and staff are great, swift, and efficient; the room clean and organised, and the bathroom is clean, shower good, and towels spotless. All in all, a restful... More

Overall appearance - clean modern and fuctional Staff - friendly, helpful and all speak fluent English Breakfast - small selection of pastries and fruit (typical continental buffet) with boiled eggs cooked to order and hot and cold drinks served to table. Room - with reliable WiFi, modern TV and nicely decorated. I would happily book again as the value represented... More

A very nice place in a good area for fun. Room gives you a pleasant feeling. The breakfast is not a bit deal for the price you pay. Would be much better if the price for a double room wouldn't be so high ( around 75 euro).

This hotel is really nice. I'm not sure if it's a new hotel, but it's very cosy and comfortable. The interior at the lobby is really neat and since it was winter, it had a fake fire on the TV screen (also in every room) which was nice to see and hear (the wood was also crackling!). The rooms are... More

Good location. It's not quite upscale Mitte, despite their claims, more funky Kreuzberg: It's on the border of the two. Skip the hotel's boring brekky at 7 euros per person and go to the Turkish backeri around the corner at the junction of Orianenstrasse and Luckauer. You'll get freshly made pastries and open faced sandwiches along with lattes etc. for... More

Motel One will most probably be the place I will use privately after visiting it on a business trip. It was a one night affair and we also encountered the late check-in but the lobby is cozy, there is a tilet and luggae room so this hsould be no problem for anyone except really tired folks traveling from overseas wanting... Clearly a hotel sliding along the edge of cost efficiency. Rooms were small - just big enough. No masses of freebees in the bathroom. Just a fluid soap with the unfortunate name of Body Hair. Service was excellent, rooms were clean, breakfast enough, location very central.

The location of the hotel was good. It was five bus stops away from checkpoint charlie and the metro station is right next to the hotel. The breakfast was also good. The service was fine and they had good wifi. However, the room itself was small. There was not enough space to place clothes since the room did not have... More

Arrived early by night train. The receptionist had trouble finding my reservation, then said a room is only avalable at 3 p.m. I buy a breakfast and see many, many people check out. Go for a walk, back now but they still can't give me a room: our cleaners don't have a phone so we don't know what's free yet.... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
