Our room was nice - it was spacious. The breakfast was also good and the location is good, right by Adenaeurplatz U-Bahn. But this place is a middle ground between a hostel and a hotel. The double bed was actually two twins pushed together with two seperate, really thin blankets....in 2 degree weather in November! The furniture was a bit... more

We picked Hotel Comet out of many in our price range because it looked so 'belle epoque'. We imagined the rooms would be furnished as comfortably and grandly as the reception area. But to our disappointment the rooms were entirely ordinary: very small, and furnished with cheap, plasticky, old-fashioned fittings. Sound transmission from the adjacent rooms and the corridor was... more

1) They cheat with room prices. When I booked a room last year from www.booking.com, I got the price, which was 15% bigger than official price listed in their Internet site. When I booked a room this year directly, the price was 25% bigger than official price listed in their Internet site. 2) Very, very noisy, impossible to sleep: both... more

We had a good experience at this hotel. Our room was a twin -bed double standard and although on the small side, it was fine for us as we spent most of our time out sightseeing. The shower room, included a wash basin and toilet which was, as mentioned in another review, in-room rather than en-suite. This was not a... more

It is a primitive place - a townhouse cheaply turned into a hotel - very thin walls and water that turns cold at 08.30. We went (unknowingly) in the messe period - so had to pay an average of 150 euro a night for a minimal twin room with shower (not en-suite but in-room!) without WC. We were forced to... more

I think the other reviews are spot on. This place is definitely not fancy, and in the heat wave when I was there, it was a little unpleasant getting to sleep. But, that's the case everywhere. It had everything in the room, a super small bathroom but that was ok for me. I thought the breakfast was really excellent, actually,... more

Hotel Comet ([--]) is very conveniently located in a very busy shopping street. I stayed only one night, which was quite good. This is definitely not a luxury 5-star hotel, but a good-location-and-good-value hotel in my opininion. The hotel reception seemed a bit rude and couldn't speak English that well. Try to have a room facing the inner yard, as... more

I stayed at the Comet in July 2004 and had a great experience. My goal was to spend my travel budget on tourist activities, rather than on a fancy hotel room which I would not enjoy most of the day. However, I also wanted a pleasant place to sleep at the end of the day. The room was clean, the... more
