We choosed this hotel because of the location between Messe Berlin and center of the city, and the very low price (€50 per night). The room was OK, clean and nice, the rest of the areas very old. The breakfast was minimal, but it had egg and fresh bread, so we survived.

Have stayed in many hotels in this area of Berlin but found this one to be most accomadating over the Xmas period. The room was basic and not for spending to much time in but it suited us as we were visiting family. The breakfast when we took it was ok more hostal food but the lady on the first... More

I chose Abendstern hotel only because of the price and the location. I had only a single night in Berlin so I didn't care much about facilities, I just wanted a good night in a clean room with decent breakfast in the morning. I didn't have all of that. The hotel is undergoing some changes so there are workers around... More

I stayed there on September 2014 by myself on a guiding service - Like many mention in here the place from outside doesn't look so nice, specially on the street there are many shops that sells all kind of stuff - anyway - the reception is running by Russians and they don't care much where you from, how was your... The Hotel was situated very close to shopping area. The price was student-friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. It wasn't anything fancy, but I value a clean hotel, not the minibar. The breakfast was good and there were many things to chose from. Even though my room was a single room in the corner of a corridor, the... More

We stayed in this hotel in December 2013. I think you get what you pay for and this hotel is one of the cheapest in Berlin. On first entering reception we thought oh dear wish we had paid a bit more! The dingy corridors just added to our disappointment however our room was a pleasant surprise, not exactly the Ritz... More

Though I stayed there in 2010, I'll write down my review. Price was excellent. Breakfast was very substantial and tasty. Room was ok with shower and toilet. It was a little cold from the window, but not very much. Location is very good - near the S-Ban Charlottenburg (so you can reach all sightseeing very easy) and near the shopping... More

I thought this hotel was far too overpriced- I paid 90EUR for a tiny room. The staff were unfriendly, the room was dingy and unclean, there was even a bug! The hotel was very noisy with people constantly going up and down the stairs. Everytime someone in another room turned on the tap, the noise of the boiler was loud... More

We stayed there for three nights. I asked for a large room as it was my boyfriends birthday, I became dubious as we walked into the un impressive reception but pleasantly surprised when we got to our room. It was very big and we could tell from the floor plan that it was the biggest room (111) so I was... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
