Holiday Inn is very close to everything you need. The tour buses stop a street away, the train and trams are there too. The Alexanderplatz has a great Christmas market within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself is adequate - nice rooms, comfy beds, nice bathrooms, key is required to use the lifts. Reception is manned 24 hours... More

The hotel is perfectly positioned for visiting the top tourist attractions on foot. The rooms from the 8th floor have a fantastic view of the TV tower. Dinner and breakfast in the hotel was of a high standard.

Stayer for one night. Seems to be a franchise hotel as it does not have too much Holiday Inn identity. At reception they where very friendly and casual, a bit like checking in to a Budget hotel. The room is very small and there is a wooden floor. Upon arrival the room was freezing cold. In this cold winter I... More

Dear jvschaik, Thank you very much for feedback. Our Holiday Inn Berlin Centre Alexanderplatz, just as the most Holiday Inns all over the world, is operated as a franchise hotel: With fulfilling all standards and technical conditions. As our Holiday Inn was constructed we decided to equipped our guest rooms with wooden floor because of hygienic reasons. Dear jvschaik, Unfortunately... More

Stayed here between Christmas and New Year 2015. everything about the stay was wonderful. The Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main train station and there is a tram stop 3 mins away. We were upgraded to an executive room which was lovely with nice views towards the tower. The room was large, spacious and above all very... More

We have stayed at this Holiday Inn previously and this visit (January 2016) exceeded our expectations. The check-in and booking-out systems are effortless. The rooms are clean and the linens are spotless. Reception staff are so helpful.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the New Year period! The hotel is very conveniently located in central Berlin and a good base to go exploring! Check-in was completed by a pleasant female member of staff and we had booked an executive room. The room was modern and clean and very suitable for a short city break! Good size... More

Impression of room was wow. I like their style and modern bathroom with a big shower. Bed was very comfortable and room very clean. Unfortunately the promised view to the tower wasn't given. The staff is very nice and helpful (also in english) The location is close to everything: shopping, tram/train/bus, sightseeing, fitness and nightlife.

This was our second stay at this hotel and we will be staying again in August 2016. Executive rooms are great, my only complaint is that I would prefer a kettle in the room instead of the tea/coffee maker. Pack your travel kettle and Yorshire Tea! The roof terrace apartments are great with a fantastic view of the Berliner Fernsehturm... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
