My girlfriend and I spent a weekend at Viktor's in Berlin and I must say it was a true pleasure being there. Our room was nice with everything needed. Also, their breakfast was amazing with everything you may wish for.

Very nice newer property in area with easy access by bus or streetcar to Museum Island. A long U-Bahn ride to the west side, but all we found once we got to the Kurfürstendamm was REALLY expensive shopping. To cold in February for a visit to the zoo. Victor's has a great breakfast buffet, and free phone calls to anywhere... More

Me and my cousin stayed here from the 2nd to the 5th of January 2015 and we loved every minute of our stay. Such a nice hotel in a nice area with very good connections to the city and the train station (you only need to take one bus or tram) lots of shops nearby and the staff are very... More

Modern, efficient with great breakfast. Well-located in East Berlin between Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain, easy access via Tram M10 or Bus 200. No fitness center, however, across the street is the huge Volkspark Friedrichshain. Lots of running and walking paths. Very interesting history. During WWII a huge bunker was there. After the war it was demolished and much of the... More

My husband, 16-year old son, and I stayed here in April 2013 during my son's spring break from school. We were here a total of 4 nights. The very best part of our stay was the excellent breakfast buffet each morning. It's a rather utilitarian looking hotel, it's East German heritage still comes through in its decor and staff. We... A lovely hotel in a good location and great value. Why then spoil it with unhelpful and in one case rude staff. The room is very clean and bigger than expected. It's easy to walk in to the city, if not trams and buses stop nearby and are very inexpensive.

This isn’t the world’s most distinctive or memorable hotel, but it’s comfortable, convenient and cheap (about €75 a night when I stayed there). I had a good-sized room with a big bathroom and a powerful shower, and there were some extras like a mini-bar and in-room safe which you wouldn’t always expect at this price point. It’s on quite a... We came for Swimming Championships at Veldrom. The hotel is central - you can walk from Alexander Platz in 15 minutes although I would noot recommend for those with heavy luggage,The check-in was smooth although we came late. The room was big, spotless and calm. Thanks to this silence we had a brilliant sleep. Breakfast is a definite plus. A... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
