Nice location, close to bus and tram and Alexanderplatz. We stayed in a lovely Jr suite overlooking the courtyard. Nice people, always available to help. Fantastic breakfast. Nice dinner and bar restaurant too. Spacious, clean, quiet..perfect for getting away from the busy city.

Pros: Very nice hotel - clean, big rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast. Everything that you need is in order :) Cons: Wifi in my room was not working that great but everywhere else it was great. S and U-Bahn a bit far away, but other than that, a great hotel.

Good service, decent breakfast and lovely location with the park across the road for walks and jogging. The challenge was definitely ventilation - it was warm when we stayed and the window only opens slightly, and there was no exhaust in the windowless bathroom. Curtains are thin so don't block out light. Very clean and well kept. Noticed books and... More

Hotel Victor is a charming establishment ran by kind and professional staff. They are located only 10 minutes (by walk) away from Alexanderplatz which is an advantage compared to the more remote hotels. Tram lines connect them to other parts of Berlin. If you love good espresso then they are not exactly a good place for you. Maybe it's because... More

When we stayed at Victor's in July 2015, temperatures were reaching 42C. There was no AC and the window was open when wie arrived letting in the hot air from outside. Parking is very limited. The receptionist was efficient but not exactly friendly. The vents in the bathroom obviously did not work as the moist air stayed for hours, and... More

When you wake up with a savage hangover, the first thing that you want is a massive breakfast, which Victor provided without fail. Cold meats, hot meats, pickles, salad, cereals, coffee, and a million other things including proseco! The hotel itself was a bit out of the way for tourist stuff, but my company's office was a 5 minute walk... More

Hotel was good, breakfast good, staff friendly and helpful. Good location for city. Our room was street facing and very noisy. Asked to be moved but no available rooms so receptionist arranged ear plugs and a complimentary bowl of fruit?? ...... No air conditioning either which would have made it more comfortable - we could have then shut the windows... More

While planning our trip to Germany and Prague, I did a bit of research for hotels in Berlin, on TripAdvisor of course. We searched the Mitte area first, and finding nothing to our liking and price range, we settled on the Alexanderplatz area. That was probably the best decision we could have made. Coming across Victor's was really a lucky... More

I stayed at this hotel for Berlin carnival and was pleasantly happy with it. The hotel was well located – roughly 20-25 minutes from Tegel airport and was only 2 stops away from Alexanderplatz on the tram, which is where all the hussle and bustle is. Staff were very helpful and couldn’t do more to help us. Check-in was quick... More

Nice comfortable rooms with average breakfast buffet. The service was fine and the staff kind and helpful with OK English skills. The evening restaurant is very rustic with typical German interior that does not match the rest of the hotel. The kitchen serves very traditional German dishes, not really our taste, but was tasteful. - The bar makes good Mojitos.... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
