Me and my cousin stayed here from the 2nd to the 5th of January 2015 and we loved every minute of our stay. Such a nice hotel in a nice area with very good connections to the city and the train station (you only need to take one bus or tram) lots of shops nearby and the staff are very... More

Modern, efficient with great breakfast. Well-located in East Berlin between Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain, easy access via Tram M10 or Bus 200. No fitness center, however, across the street is the huge Volkspark Friedrichshain. Lots of running and walking paths. Very interesting history. During WWII a huge bunker was there. After the war it was demolished and much of the... More

My husband, 16-year old son, and I stayed here in April 2013 during my son's spring break from school. We were here a total of 4 nights. The very best part of our stay was the excellent breakfast buffet each morning. It's a rather utilitarian looking hotel, it's East German heritage still comes through in its decor and staff. We... A lovely hotel in a good location and great value. Why then spoil it with unhelpful and in one case rude staff. The room is very clean and bigger than expected. It's easy to walk in to the city, if not trams and buses stop nearby and are very inexpensive.

This isn’t the world’s most distinctive or memorable hotel, but it’s comfortable, convenient and cheap (about €75 a night when I stayed there). I had a good-sized room with a big bathroom and a powerful shower, and there were some extras like a mini-bar and in-room safe which you wouldn’t always expect at this price point. It’s on quite a... We were looking for nice place for 2 days. It was good choice. Near to the airport, metro stations and quite convenient for sighseeing. Interior is modern, nicely arranged. Really quiet area for those who want rest a bit.

We came for Swimming Championships at Veldrom. The hotel is central - you can walk from Alexander Platz in 15 minutes although I would noot recommend for those with heavy luggage,The check-in was smooth although we came late. The room was big, spotless and calm. Thanks to this silence we had a brilliant sleep. Breakfast is a definite plus. A... More

Stayed here for a few days recently, friendly check In staff, great location, I was upgraded to an extremely spacious room. Very nice indeed. Wi if is free but.......It is very very slow, I,m told by the staff that this is in the process of being changed. Would return if the wi if is improved.

Very nice hotel! We stayed for two nights recently for a weekend in Berlin with friends. Both my room and my friend's room were clean, spacious and the bed was comfy. The mini bar was expensive (what did you expect!!) and I would have expected better toiletries for the price we paid (they have shampoo/body wash and conditioner in dispensers... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
