great hostel, friendly staff , good atmosphere at night and highly recommend the pod beds close your curtain and you've got your own mini room :) great location. Literally at the front door is rosa Luxemburg platz which is one stop to Alexanderplatz. Good discount on food for hostel stayers and food overall is pretty dang tasty. Also note wifi... More

St Christophers Inn is a fantastic hostel. It is located directly outside a tube station on the U2 line which is one of the central lines. The bar has great deals and guests also get 25% off. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm and it was perfectly clean. Each bed has curtains and a light above you. Showers are... More

This is a good hostel. It's located just in front of Rose-Of-Luxemburg metro station. Staff is nice. You can buy food with a 25% discount too. The bar is very good. You will meet a lot of people there (i met so many internationals there). It is clean and you can use the storage room free of charge too. Things... More

I have been staying in this hostel for over six years now and it keeps being my #1pick in Berlin. Fun downstairs, great location, friendly armosphere, clean and well provided rooms for a reasonable price.

This place was a weird contradiction, the reception is in a dark and kind of dirty bar, and the elevators and stairways up to the rooms are super sketchy but the rooms and bathrooms were clean and updated. I was not impressed with the staff, I had to wait forever to check in with all my stuff on my back... More

If you are someone so serious, dont like to chill - this is prolly not the best place for you. this is for cool people who wants to enjoy a cool place in a cool city. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff who welcomed us is really friendly (well most of them are). We slept... More

Our stay was good but not exceptional- it is only a hostel after all. We shared a 4 bedroom no bathroom room with a very smelly guest. The beds were comfy and the showers and hallways were kept exceptionally clean. We stayed on the 2nd floor and there was a constant smell of bad sewerage or something nasty, this was... More

Nice hostel. Stayed in single room and used common bath. Clean room, warm blankets, quiet even on 2nd floor above street. Good price worth the extra $ to have single room which is still at 1/2 price of budget hotels. Good restaurant and bar and free breakfast. U Bahn 50 feet from front door. 100% recommended

I came here with two other friends for five days. We were dubious at staying in a hostel but WOW!! We arrived and it was a friendly and awesome place to be (we even stayed in the downstairs bar for two of our four nights over Hallowe'en). It's so close to the main shopping square of Alexanderplatz, plus there's a... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
