5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed in two hostels in Berlin - this one was the cheaper of the two, yet it was miles better. We stayed in a 7 bed dorm here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and spacious. I will come back to this hostel when and if I visit Berlin again. Very reasonable prices... More

The staff have been incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the showers/bathrooms are also very good. I stayed in a 41 bed dorm and met some really cool people, and the rooms are really light so it doesn't feel crowded or stuffy. The breakfast is 4 Euros, pretty standard continental breakfast, so was pretty... More

The location is great, the staff was very friendly, the common spaces are nice - a bar and a spacious terrace. We also liked the breakfast. I do not recommend sleeping in megadorms, zero intimacy, the beds are very close to each other, no place to hang your stuff, when you are putting something into the locker which is between... More

The hostel has a great location and is near two subway stations. The interior was great and I loved how there was only wifi in the common area. Like this it was really easy to meet people as no one just stayed in their rooms. Life music was great, staff was great, not all of them speak English though

Took a group of 46 Sixth Form students (age 17) to Berlin a couple of weeks ago - this was a perfect hostel. A great place to come back to after a long day exploring the city, and everything we needed taken care of. Looking forward to returning next year!

Went with my one of friends with the hope to meet new people before we went on our nights out. This was exactly what happened, the residents and staff were extremely friendly and we met new people every night. The only slight issue is that we were under the impression our mixed room would be mixed rather than a full... More

I stayed here four nights in the 12-bed top floor suite when traveling alone through Germany, and it was fantastic. For 10€ a night I got a kitchen, shower, and hardwood floor/glass wall top floor space to share with other people that was solidly enough space and wonderfully bright and open. The lobby is fantastic for meeting people; didn't have... More

I came here with one of my friends from Copenhagen. The prices are good and I like cleanliness of the rooms. But the toilets and the bathroom is not enough and lobby is too noisy to be relaxing and sitting. Also lobby is the only place for Internet access and when the lobby is crowded it's very hard to access... More

Hostel was really clean and beds were really comfortable. The lobby acts as a great pub where people can mingle and do their own stuff. Staffs were really friendly and willingly to help whenever in need. Thumbs up for all of them. They had more than enough toilets for everyone at the time of my stay and that was fabulous.... More

If you value your time, mental stability, and trip, at ALL, do not stay here. By far the stupidest hostel I've ever been in, and I've been to a LOT in Europe. The staff at this hostel was absolutely useless for a number of reasons... 1. They couldn't tell me anything about local pub crawls. You are running a hostel... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
