Amazing people/atmosphere, really friendly staff and super cool location. Cheap, there's a bar in the main social room or a quieter room if you want to chill. Kitchen is good. A bit hard to find at first, especially if you arrive in the dark but I always felt safe in and around the hostel, even as a woman travelling alone,... More

In this hostel, I had to deal with a sexual offender/ during the night (a penal act). He was sleeping in the bed next to me. Although it was so obvious a sexual delict, the management allowed this man to stay another night.

really nice, friendly staff and atmosphere. Great location too. The reception was open 24 hours and there was cctv at entrance where you had to show you badge so really safe. Would definitely recommend for large groups of friends.

Even though Kreuzberg is nice, the hostel itself has a shady location: right next to a S-bahn station, with an unwelcoming entrance. The hostel is on the third floor, and the stairway was totally dark. We got a room with more beds than we booked, and were denied to stay in our friends room, even though they had vacant beds.... Baxpax kreuzberg is a nice hostel in one of the 'coolest' part of berlin, with cozy bars, restaurant and cafe'. The hostel has a very nice and friendly atmosphere, especially in the common room where everyone chill out drinking, chatting and (unfortunately) smoking. This last thing would be my only 'complaint', other than that, a really nice hostel!

The Hostel is nice and has a good asmosphere, but when you will use the men's showers you might get some burns on your body. The water tempature is fixed and so hot you can't stand under it for more than 20 seconds... But beside the shower it is a good hostel.

Where to start.... I have stayed in the hostel a few times and despite the place lacking much character, come back here because ot the location. Every year I travel with a group of friends to Berlin festival and this hostel is perfectly located to get home at night after the festival club night at xberg. However, I will never... More

The hostel is awesome, it has 3 common areas to meet new people and have a drink! The location is right near a station and the area is quite nice too. The staff are friendly and have lots of helpful things for you to do. Really clean and big hostel, great facilities, just no kitchen.

The staff at this hostel were without a doubt the rudest I encountered in all my travels around Europe. Asking them for the slightest bit of help seems such an inconveniance. The facilities are extremely dirty and the showers scalding as you can't change the temperature. Though the location is fantastic but I won't be staying here again.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
