We have just got back from Berlin and stayed 4 nights in Pension Kettler. Our room was very dusty - anyone with asthma would struggle here. The basin was dirtier the second day, with bits of hair probably fallen off a dirty cloth and toothbrush marks not cleaned away. No lift - you have to struggle up two flights of... More

Centrally located, just off the Ku-dam, this small pension is like a home away from home. The owner, Frau Isolda, gave her personal touch into the design of the place. Although toilets are sharing, the feeling was quite OK. Rooms we got were big and comfortable with a private shower and sink. Breakfast is served to the room itself, which... More

I stayed at the Pension Kettler last month for a few days with some friends. It really is a lovely place to stay. It is one of the few pre-war old style Berlin pensions that still survive and it still has its original Jugendstil interior. So if you want to experience some period atmosphere, then I recommend you try it.... More

If authentic local history and atmosphere in an ideal location close to subway and the Ku'dam is for you, surely Berlin cannot offer a finer" B & B" -- even at higher prices. Similar to what we Americans know as a Historic Register property, everything in this spotlessly clean place is just as it once was decades ago. Period furnishings... More

Pension Kettler is on Bleibtreustrasse, just off the Ku'dam in Charlottenberg, and the hotel is only steps from the airport bus or U. Great location for all the sights of Berlin. This is more than a pleasant little pension. Just walking through the foyer and hallway was a pleasure, because the halls and rooms are filled with prints, sculptures, photographs... More

This place is a one-off! All the rooms are themed and the corridor walls are packed with works of art. The owner, Frau Josopovici is delightful - she is known in Berlin as the Fountain Fairy because of the work she has done helping to restore old public fountains. The rooms are clean and comfortable though rather sombre. Most of... More

It's just off Ku'dam, near the Uhlandstrasse U-bahn. Bus from Tegel drops you off at Bleibtreustrasse. It's run by very interesting Polish woman, ex-model , now dedicated to restoring Berlin's neglected fountains. Kettler is full of art works and antiques. Rooms are themed to commemorate artists and performers. I've stayed in the Callas Room - huge bed - and am... More
