Hotel in good area by checkpoint charlie. Layout of hotel very weird up and down stairs! No tea coffee making facilities in room. Restaurant area very weird very narrow having to barge past people when eating not good. Staff varies some helpful some not. Rooms good size. Pillows and quilt all feather so if your allergic be careful!

The hotel is 200 m from checkpoint Charly in the same street as checkpoint Charly. 50 metres from the entrance of the hotel is the entrance of the underground (Kochstrasse). Behind the hotel is a supermarket. The rooms ar clean and so is the bathroom. The A/C works well and is quite silent. Maybe the wood on the walls is... More

We booked this hotel with BA as a package. The hotel is close to Checkpoint Charlie. It shows its age and in our room a lot was worn out. The bathroom left a lot to be desired with the shower very hard to use. The lighting was poor- my wife had trouble applying makeup there. She had to as there... More

Stayed here for a mid-week break on a B&B basis through a really good British Airways deal. As said before the hotel is in an excellent location - very close to Kochstrasse station, although we didn't use the U-Bahn until the last morning. Travelling from the airport we caught the TXL bus which drops you at the top of Friedriche... More

My partner and I had a lovely time staying at this hotel, it was clean, comfortable, friendly and had everything you need for an enjoyable stay. When we arrived we benefited from an early check in of 3 hours at no extra cost, which was very much appreciated, the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast each morning had so... More

Lovely hotel in a convenient location near Checkpoint Charlie. U-bahn subway station just steps away, making it much easier to reach tourist sites in a spread-out city like Berlin. Classic building with renovated interior. Family suite was very spacious. Comfortable beds and clean bathroom. Strong Wifi, but limited to two devices. A professional but cold staff; you would expect friendlier... More

As previously stated the hotel is in an excellent location. Although the hotel looks dated from outside the inside is very clean and modern. We had a good sized quiet bedroom with mini bar and plenty of hanging space, the shower room was spacious with shower gel and hand wash. The maid came every day. The dining room was very... More

Stayed with friends for one night. Booked two rooms on a third party site, and arrived at the hotel a few minutes later. The guy in the reception looked concerned and told us that they were fully booked even before we had made the reservation, and he had no idea how that had happened. But after 5-10 minutes of consulting... More

My husband and I stayed here for three nights as part of an excellent priced British Airways deal. The hotel is located two minutes from Kochstr. underground station and five minutes walk to Checkpoint Charlie where all the open top hop on and hop off buses stopped - very convenient. We did the red route our first day but recommend... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
