A well located hotel for all the main attractions of Berlin, easily walkable distance to most! The hotel itself was efficient, clean, friendly and comfortable! We stayed with BA holidays and therefore made it excellent value for money. We stayed on the 7th floor with an internal view but that did not present a problem for us as we did not plan... More

The reception desk staff are your first sight of a hotel, so to speak. The staff at this hotel were quite sullen, definitely not friendly, quite curt when answering a question! A tad sloppily dressed too! We were also surprised at the inefficiently run breakfast room - staff seemed to be running around all the time, but tables were slow... More

Stayed here for two nights (28th & 29th December) with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Our room was #819 on the top floor, facing the inner courtyard. We arrived at the hotel around 11:30 to be informed that our room would not be ready until 3pm. Returned to the hotel at 3pm only to be told that the... More

Very clean hotel overall, comfy beds, polite staff and hotel close to U bahn and Checkpoint Charlie, though not "Mitte". Decor a tad tired. Reported to reception that panel of tiles under sink had smashed onto floor on first night of stay but nothing had been done about it when we left 4 days later. Cleaner had been in room... More

Arrived early evening to very friendly reception staff. We asked if there were any twin rooms available as we were two friends and they were happy to oblige. They even offered us a quieter room without having to ask. Just be aware that if you've paid for your hotel in advance there will be a city tax charge of 3.25... More

Stayed at this centrally located hotel as part of a 3 day BA package city break . Good location to Check Point Charlie with excellent connections via the U ban to the rest of Berlin. Staff were helpful and great with English (we have no German). Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The restaurant was a bit of a... More

All the staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke perfect English. They are very knowledgable about the area and made our stay very enjoyable. The rooms were clean, the mattresses comfortable, the bathroom clean and nice. The wifi was fast and free, breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.

Have recently returned from a 3 night stay with friends at this hotel. It was one of the very few reasonably priced hotels which included a full English breakfast and was situated conveniently close to Checkpoint Charlie and the best Christmas market. The hotel reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and our rooms on the 7th floor were furnished... More

We are 8 guest in 4 double rooms, hotel is nice in general, a part one side of hotel which rooms are fm 118 till 123 which instead of being into 1st floor are located into underground of the hotel! Nothing to do with the standards of this hotel. The reception excuse is tht their system choosed it and all... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
