What a great place to stay. Close to the transport system. Rooms were a good size, clean and warm. Housekeeping couldn't be faulted. Breakfast plenty of it and quality very good, except the bacon is cooked too much but that is a personal taste. Bar is cosy but a lovely place to have a beer. Staff on front desk were... More

A good hotel, with nice service, our room was large and comfortable, clean and tidy. Little mini-bar, with the usual drinks and snacks. The hotel breakfasts were very good, a selection of all you could need, cheeses, cold meats, eggs, bacon, sausages. Lots of cereals, and fruit, and a nice selection of rolls, croissants, danish pastries and breads. The hotel... More

Super central location right beside checkpoint Charlie And comfortable room-the old man at the desk really needed to return to charm school. With his handle bar moustache he had a most Germanic sneer and not what you would expect at the reception/concierge desk! Breakfast a basic continental style...with a most ride red haired waitress who seemed to forget she was... More

Stayed during a cold snap in February so pleased that everywhere was warm. Our room on the second floor was perfectly adequate, clean, beds had white linen and there was plenty of storage space. It was also quiet as it looked into an inner courtyard. The road outside, though a main road was never very busy so rooms looking that... More

Stayed here for a short break. Made the mistake of not doing our research and ended up getting off the wrong U-Bahn stop. After a mile long walk through the designer shops came to hotel. Well maintained and lovely reception staff. Room on the 6th floor was quiet and comfortable with underfloor heating in the bathroom... A definite bonus! Even... More

Like other reviewers we have liked the location and the hotel. We stayed as part of a BA city break on the 8th floor. The room was quiet, spacious and clean; breakfast had lots of choices. The only negative experience was with the bike rental shop located in a Turkish kiosk in the same building on the corner. The hotel... More

We booked our hotel through the BA sale and we were delighted. Arrived at a tube station a few steps from the hotel door. Free mini bar because we booked online. Room was spacious & warm. Good breakfast choice. Great location for sightseeing and some good eateries nearby. Would definitely go back

Currently staying here. Really pleased with hotel. Great location and very easy to get anywhere. Comfortable room. Quiet which is surprising considering how near to everything we are. Lovely breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Like many others booked for 3 nights with BA. The hotel is in a great location, just down from Checkpoint Charlie, 50 yards from Koche Strasse U6 underground station, within easy reach of loads of attractions, plus with the underground so near, easy to get anywhere. The rooms are fine (they do have functions some evenings) so get a room... More

Really easy to get to from Tegel airport. 128 bus then U6. Get a travel pass. We got 72 hour ones for 28 euro and didn't spend anymore on travel. The rooms were clean, plenty of hot water, lifts to all floors and very quiet. I had an inner room on the third floor and didn't hear a thing. I... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
