This hostel was great for what me and my friends wanted to have when we travelled to Berlin for a couple of days. They had happy hour with good drinks and it was close to many clubs and bars. Not a hostel for anyone who wants to cook their own food as there is no common kitchen, but if you... More

I must be honest that before arriving I was not expecting much from this hostel, especially when walking the final km or so there as the area comes across as more 'underground' with quite a lot of graffiti in the area. However the hostel itself was great with a prompt check in, clean and spacious room, large showers and clean... More

I went here with 3 other friends and we were in a 10 person room but it felt like more than enough space and we had a balcony. The layout is something I've never seen at a hostel where our dorm was part of an apartment like setup with a kitchen and dining area. Within our apartment it was quite... More

By far my favorite hostel we stayed at in our recent trip to germany. The staff was super friendly and helpful! The breakfast wasn't free but it was cheap and it was good. I absolutely will stay there again when I go back!

We stayed in a shared dorm of 6 beds. Clean and tidy and there was a kitchen located just outside the door to make your own meals. The toilets and shower were also clean and worked well. The staff could of been a little friendlier . The location is great and the hostel has all the facilities you need, including... More

This hostel is very close to Berghain, so it is ideal for the traveller looking to try to get into this club. Sunflower was quite loud, full of a colourful array of interesting and ever-changing roommates, and without any hint of reliable wifi. However, for me this was an excellent place to stay. The room was extremely affordable, the beds... More

As in the title, the hostel is very clean. Staff extra helpful. Good basic breakfast. So cheap for the quality! Nice bar open 24hrs. Location ok, not too far from train station. Free wifi. Was so glad to find room in here in the middle of the night, good luck too, seems like a popular place.

I've travelling regularly to Berlin since 2003 and I've always stayed in Sunflower, because it is a very welcoming place. Staff is kind, helpful and professional. The atmosphere is friendly, furniture and decoration are original and colorful. Several services are provided:from breakfast to bedsheets, luggage room, 24hours reception, touring tips, city maps and more. Furthermore, the hostel offers also complete... More

Its a little bit weird having just one key for each room, and it is located far from the center. The night atmosphere at the lobby is great and it is close to some nice bars. It is great if you want to meet new people and don't really care about the big distances.

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
