As in the title, the hostel is very clean. Staff extra helpful. Good basic breakfast. So cheap for the quality! Nice bar open 24hrs. Location ok, not too far from train station. Free wifi. Was so glad to find room in here in the middle of the night, good luck too, seems like a popular place.

I've travelling regularly to Berlin since 2003 and I've always stayed in Sunflower, because it is a very welcoming place. Staff is kind, helpful and professional. The atmosphere is friendly, furniture and decoration are original and colorful. Several services are provided:from breakfast to bedsheets, luggage room, 24hours reception, touring tips, city maps and more. Furthermore, the hostel offers also complete... More

Its a little bit weird having just one key for each room, and it is located far from the center. The night atmosphere at the lobby is great and it is close to some nice bars. It is great if you want to meet new people and don't really care about the big distances.

We wanted somewhere cheap in Berlin as it had been a long backpacking trip. In short this was the worst hostel we've had on our trip. But it's partly our fault. We didn't realise that it was only catered for a party hostel. We had previously read about the one key per dorm rule which is a stupid rule but... More

We stayed there for 3 nights, at the first night two guys really strange with no luggage entered and slept in our room, when I woke up and went to tell the staff in the reception about it no one gave us attention. Some hours later they discovered that these guys had stolen a computer from other guy on our... More

I know the sunflower since 10 years. The atmosphere is great, the stuff is very nice, the breakfirst is more than ok (for that price!=, the rooms are nice and clean. nevertheless it's simply a real hostel. no hotel-comfort (that should be clear). the bathrooms and showers could be a little cleaner.

Showing up off the train nearby, the Sunflower staff had me checked in quickly and was helpful in answering a few travel questions. The Hostel is easy to reach from Berlin Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof with no tricky changes on the S-bahn.( stop Warschauer Str). The neighborhood has many handy places: supermarket, vegan shop, food stalls of all types and gives... More

This is a fantastic hostel. It's conveniently located 5 mins from Warschauerstraße S-Bahn station. The staff are friendly and helpful. The common area is beautifully decorated- it's a great place to chill out and have a beer at night too. Breakfast was delicious and you can have as much as you like. It was a little bit noisy at night... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
