We visited this hotel as a group of 36 (4 teachers and 32 Art students). as the trip leader I can't fault the hotel for our needs it was great. Spacious group rooms that were basic but very clean. Each room had a small safe. There's a large lobby space where you can meet as a group which has a... More

Value for money, decent breakfast, good and quick room service, walking distance from a tram station, you can reach Alexanderplatz in 3-4 minutes. Stayed here for a week with my friends. All sorts of Thai restaurants and Vietnamese restaurants are close.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. We had a loft room which was very spacious, and the beds were so comfortable. Bathroom was compact but very clean and modern - everything worked well. The staff were very helpful when I needed them and available 24/7. Wifi worked well, only downside was having to sign in all the... More

This is quite an interesting hotel. Quite quirky too. Went with the university and I must say its quite close to the train station which takes about 8-10 minutes walk. Good continental breakfast and good atmosphere. Beds are comfortable and toilets are clean. Some parts of the hallways were a tad bit scary especially at night when no one is... More

My husband and I stayed here 5 nights and found it to be just what we were looking for as our base to explore eastern Germany. It's clean and outfitted with just the right amenities for what we wanted: a safe, inexpensive and conveniently located lodging with breakfast - a wonderful and delicious buffet every morning. The breakfast room is... More

went here with school, too many stairs and the lift is too slow. The bedrooms are plain but the beds are very comfortable. Staff are the worst they make no effort to help and are not very friendly especially the morning cooking staff, shouted at me for not clearing my plate in the bin properly? ALSO: MAIDS WENT THROUGH ARE... More

This is a very interesting budget hotel. It's in an old factory and very close to the subway and bus routes. Not too far away from attractions in Berlin, but not so close either. A bus or train ride are recommended, but we often walked to Potsdamer Platz. Good cold breakfast and friendly staff. I had a couple problems with... More

Great location, very near tram stop and perfect for just sleeping in. Great little italian down the road which i'd recommend going to. The people on the desk were very helpful with directing us to places. Free wifi everywhere which is a bonus. Slightly weary of giving our key back in as could ask at desk for anyones keep without... This is a great place for young travelers to stay. It was very clean and mildly comfortable, very close to public transit and some great restaurants and bars. The walls are very thin so you can basically hear everything, and there were A LOT of young teenagers and rowdy English rugby players who were extremely obnoxious throughout the night and... More

Myself and a colleague took 32 20 year old students here in March on a 4 day trip to Berlin. I have used the sister hotel the transit hotel before and so specified this place as I was pleasantly surprised last time. The staff are helpful and speak good English, the rooms are spacious airy and light, especially those on... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
