This hostel was great. Our room was very clean and fitted 4 of us comfortably. We did have a private bathroom in our room but ended up using the communal bathrooms as the shower heads were better and you had more room - the private toilet was a bit like a plane bathroom. It was very warm when we stayed... More

I stayed here for 3 nights and it was good. It is a big hostel with a restaurant, huge lobby and a nice bar to hang out in the evening and meet some people. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check in was easy and fast. I stayed in a 6 bed doorm with bunk beds and bathroom inside. The beds... More

Staff were really friendly and happy to help us with booking tours and with directions. Good location, only a short tram ride to Alexanderplatz. Lively hostel with a good bar ideal for meeting other traveller. Stayed in a private room which reminded me of student halls. The room and ensuite were clean if a little cramped and although our room... More

The hostel is quite clean, backpacker-friendly, the personel is friendly. If you meet as non-conflict people at your room as I did, it should be a safe stay. It's also very easy to get in the city centre, as the tram-stop is very near.

Stayed here last summer in a private room. The room itself was great, but it was in a top floor and the wifi was practically non existent up there. It was annoying having to head to the common area which is always crowded, only to find that the wifi sucks there too :( Other than that the hostel is huge,... More

Sometimes when a hostel is too big , it looses its character and touch to create a nice atmosphere for the guests. It's a hotel for big groups who will hardly spend time in the rooms, luckily i spent little time in my room, there was no Air-con and it was 35 degrees outside, i was suffering but the showers... This hostel is big, very big. Big, as in over 700 dorms!! - so if you are traveling solo, I would probably not recommend this hostel. Due to the size of the hostel I thinking the atmosphere was brought down a bit, but luckily for me the staff working there (Stefanie, Amy and Daniel, soon to become a bartender) were... More

Not one for staying in hostels but if they are like this then I'm sold. Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff available 24/7. Room was spacious even with 4 of us sharing and clean. We had an ensuite bathroom which was small but served it's purpose. Being on the 7th floor meant that we weren't disturbed by people oming and going.... More

It was more like a hotel. We got our own air conditioned room. It had a really cool bar and outside bit. Had to keep paying deposits on glasses but that's because of recycling. The location wasn't great and there's nothing around it. Could get a tram to the centre just make sure you get it the right direction because... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
