I've stayed in this hostel twice in the last year, both time as part of a group of students, and I found it be the perfect sort of hostel for what we needed. They have a large selection of dormitories and rooms that can accommodate groups larger than 6 people which means that it is a very convenient choice for... More

This hostel is lively and buzzing probably due to it's size - it's huge! But that meant it had many great facilities. It's located right next to an s-bahn station and to a tram stop which meant it was always easy to get to the centre of Berlin (15-20mins). There is a great bar located within the hostel which had... Room was clean, bed fairly comfy and facilities are ok. Nothing special about this hostel but it is close to the train station which is a big positive. Wifi didn't work in the rooms and showers weren't great but did the job for our stay in Berlin.

Bar downstairs also has got good potential...Hovewer this place is hard to call hostel, this is more like a budget hostel, that's good from one side, but not for travelers... More

The biggest hostel I have ever stayed !!! Great location, close to the subway. The reception staff is very helpful. Unfortunately, due to size, wi fi doen’t work in the bedrooms, there is no kitchen and the luggage deposit is paid.

It was hectic with all the school groups and huge groups of tourists coming in and out. The staff look like they don't like working there. I dont blame them. Even the most simple things cost extra. The wifi was very limited. I wouldn't stay here again.

Compared to the boring Hamburg Generator Hostel this place is kicking. Mainly lots of teenage kids but they are on tour and have to be in bed while were out in Berlin. Wow what a place Berlin is and we only saw a fraction of it. Different ages stay here, i saw a couple in there late 60's come into... More

Not a great hostel. Enough if you want to sleep, that's it. Room had a weird smell, there were pizza boxes from previous resident below my bed, and the other residents were weird and diverse. Reception was bustling with people since you get wifi only at the reception. Overall, okay to sleep in for a cheap rate. Not a family... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
