Centrally located hostel just a 15 minute walk from Brandenburg Gate; close to major attractions (Checkpoint Charlie, Reichstag, Jewish Memorials etc) Pros: Clean, tidy, presentable rooms with comfortable mattresses, pillows and warm blankets. decent size lockers, plus heaters! Bathrooms/showers are decent enough. Small common room, nothing flash; fairly cheap alcohol for 1euro + Cons: Kitchen is terrible! No toaster, no... More

+ Good location. Nice price. 24h reception. Clean dorms. - Dirty kitchen. Trouble with wi-fi, and staff couldn't help me with it. I also loose my sweatshirt from bags that I left in the luggage room :(

Everything was fantastic. It was easy to get to (walking from Station Hbf), and Check In was easy and smooth. I was able to use a 10 euro deposit instead of my passport, whereas in other hostels I've stayed in I *HAD* to hand over my passport. The room was spacious for a ten-bed, and there wasn't any issue with... More

The staff is very friendly and the position of the hostel is excellent as you can reach most of Berlin's interesting places from there. The cleanness, especially that of the bed sheets, is not up to the standards. Anyway very good place to stay.

This hostel is really disgusting. The personnel is rude and cannot remember the guests, the rooms or the conversations. David, the receptionist is a racist and don't accept guests from some countries. They say to some people that there are no rooms when the hostel is half empty. This was really dissapointing.

Similar to the other reviewers expressed, their staff have this condescending attitude toward guests' concerns, and they have been known to enter rooms without knocking. The rude blonde mid 40s man other reviewers have mentioned is Michal Petrovic, the ‘front office manager’. This hostel has a lot of group booking business, which may be the reason the management don’t bother... More

I stayed here for 4 nights and couldn't fault it for location so close to metro stations and attractions could of been cleaned more but what do you expect for 7 euros a night if you are travelling alone id say this place is perfect for you

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
