The hostel was pretty good in general. But the kitchen was dirty and untid (though I suppose that the guests have the fault of that). Besides, there wasn't much kitchen utensils. Apart from the kitchen, the rest was very nice.

Even though the hostel looked very unappealing from the road outside, once in our room we were pleasantly surprised. The room was basic, but clean and spacious for six people. Location was okay, close to some attractions and a metro stop. The only major negative would be the kitchen facilities-a packed and messy room, with the fridges being completely full... More

Great location just a short walk to Checkpoint Charlie & the metro. Supermarket Lidl in the same block. Staff on reception were very friendly. Room was clean. Kitchen was small but adequate. No plates & not a lot of cutlery available. Otherwise definitely would stay there again.

Great hostel, really clean large rooms with big windows making them very light. Loads of toilets and showers, a kitchen and computers. Only downside was the large number of screaming 16 year old spanish kids running around. Now I remember when I had my first beer, but these guys were out of hand - not 'really' the hostels fault though.

I stayed in many hostels in my Europe trip and this wasn't the best one but it still is very good. Don't come here if you're expecting a luxury place to stay. This is extremely basic but still clean and affordable. I stayed here 3 nights and if there was any small problems, they were dealt with professionally and quickly.... More

Hostel is located in the perfect location with only a 10ish minute walk to the main attractions of Berlin. We arrived earlier than check in time but could store our luggage for the day as we went out to explore. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Definitely recommend this hostel which has nice dorms with ensuites. Only downside was... More

A large, functional hostel. Beds, rooms, toilets and showers are ok for the price. Good central location with a 2 minute walk to the neareast subway and a medium sized supermarket around the corner. Negatives: The rooms get hot during the summer. Several of the wall outlets in my 8 bed dorm room were broken so people had to take... More

When we arrived at the hostel, we were told that we needed permission from our parents (we weren't 18 yet) so be sure to prepare for that with a copy of your parents passport. The staff helped us with this problem and was really nice to us during our stay. The whole place is filled with people so you're not... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
