We stayed in a all girls dorm, room was nice and ok cleaned. Hostel was queit in a night time but rooms we're really hot at the summer time. Hostels showers we're pretty dirty, but alright for a hostel. Staff was nice and helpfull. Might come again. Good location near the subway, so traveling around Berlin is easy. Also near... More

Hostel is fine. Beds and toilet are clean, showers however are quite old and not really clean. Check-in is untill 1:00, but they don't open the door after 19:00. So then you have to wait till there is someone who can open the door for you. Lidl is very close so you can buy cheap food there!

An ideal place for one-night stay at the heart of Berlin. The hostel's staff is responsive and there is spacious lounges for relaxing. Wi-fi is for free but difficult to connect and operate a relatively slow (apparently many users connecting at the same time). Lockers in the rooms with the ability to lock only with your padlock. Towel for an... More

The hostel is located just next to Checkpoint Charlie, but this is the only good thing about it. There is no hot water in the shower. The floor is almost alwats completely flooded in the bathroom. All the lights are working with a motion sensor, which is quite annoying in the kitchen or the toilet at night. You have to... More

This hostel doesn't have a lift so if you are gonna carry a luggage, you wouldn't want it to be heavy but it is still fine to me even though I was carrying a pretty heavy luggage. The staffs can speak English very well but sometimes the attitude was a little bit not friendly. The wifi works until you use... More

It's a nice hostel, helpful staff, good location for not only the nightlife but for sightseeing as well. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. Though the wifi is pretty bad (but come on, you're not there to hang on your phone) and the kitchen could've been a bit cleaner, but it mostly depends on the guests.. So all in all... More

Rooms are very basic, just bunk beds, but that's fine for the price. It was a bit cold too and no way to turn the radiator on. But the noise in the morning! The walls are very thin so people talking in the next room sound like they are in yours, and it seems that every door had a really... More

It was ok. Quite good, clean, maybe I'm not big fan of kitchen. The common area was nice place to spend time. My friend and I was in the room for 4 people, it was modest, but ok. Market is very close. Good for this price.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
