The hostel is located centrally in Berlin, not far away from sights and easy to get to. That is the most positive I can write. The room was not really suited as a hostel, because of poor capacity and the bathroom had a very odd smell. The staff is generally without service genes and one was even rude and unpleasant.... I was in a private room for two people, it was an excellent room, very clean, the bathroom functional and very nice. Big windows for natural light. Looked like a hotel, the staff was great and it was perfectly located near an U-Bahn station.

We stayed here for two nights during our interrail trip through Europe. When we left, I forgot my jacket. I sent them an email and they responded very quickly. A week later, I received my jacket already. Michal, Thank you! Our roommates were very kind and they organise a pubcrawl every week, but its not a partyhostel at all. Its... More

I was there with 16 student friends when we visited Berlin on march and I can say that the hostel is the best I have ever been. Clean bathrooms, clean and tidy rooms and good service and situation of the hostel in the city. A lot of students and young people. The kitchen is quite good and the nice atmosphere.... More

location is undeniably an advantage (near Checkpoint Charlie), prices are competitive, it's clean. Unfortunately, wifi is slow and not stable, beds don't have bed lamps, therefore it's main light or darkness, no hostel atmosphere - common room is located at the end of the corridor and nobody's going there, guests are weirdly mixed and not so open to others.

The hostel is good and clean. Location is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can walk to a lot of place, as you are in central berlin. The metro is very close, so getting to other parts of the city is easy. Beds are comfortable and the bedroom is quite big. Lockers are free, always a plus. WiFi... More

This hostel was really central to the main sites of Berlin which was really great. The rooms and beds were comfortable and had access to wifi although it was dodgy at times. The kitchen was ok but was a bit dirty and had nothing to dry dishes with. The staff were friendly and helpful when needed.

This hostel was in an excellent location being right near checkpoint Charlie and the tube- it took about five minutes to get to both. The 10 bed dorm had comfortable beds and were clean and tidy. The kitchen was good however there was nothing to dry dishes with which could be annoying to some. There was wifi access in the... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
