Hotel Riverside's location is perfect, but the hotel is old-fashioned. Staff not friendly and slow. Rooms are out of date with poor beds. Bathroom is very small and also out of date. Breakfastroom too small for amount of guests.

Waiting staff more interested in finishing their break than serving us outside. Looking at the state of the the place we opted to play safe and order croissant with butter, jam, honey etc. and black coffee. Coffee came then long wait for croissant. We assumed it was being warmed. Arrived cold and no butter or jam etc. Waitress turned on... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in July, amazing location as so easy to travel round Berlin. The staff were very helpful and gave us ideas as were to visit. The room was lovely and large with air con which we very much needed, We had a quiet room which didn't have pretty views. The only downside we found was... More

Great location, awesome service, and the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in all of Europe. The front desk guy (sorry, forgot his name) in the afternoon was VERY helpful. He was as honest as we saw throughout our seven city tour of Europe. Also, when I made the reservation online I told them that it was our first wedding anniversay.... More

Stayed there June 2014 during exhibition. Excellent location, close to S-Bahn/U-Bahn Friedrichstrasse and nice restaurants outside. Room on 3rd floor in adjecent building. Corridor looked dirty and didn't promise good for the room, but the room itself was OK for 3-star hotel. Strange however, to have a bed with a big lighed hearth at the bed-head and canopy. Did not... I was staying at Riverside Hotel in September 2012; it is a nice hotel, clean, nice rooms with very comfortable beds. The hotel offered us free of charge two bottle of water/per day. The location is excellent, on Friedrichstrasse, 5 min to U and S-bahn,5 min. walking from Dom and Museum Quarter.

Absolutely perfect location. I stayed in a comfort double room with views of the river spree. The room was huge and exceptionally clean. Unbelievably comfy bed and massive bathroom. Friendly and helpful reception staff who looked after my bag when I had some time after checking out before I was moving on. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

What an unbelievable disappointing place! Receptionists are unprofessional and very disrespectful. The cleaning is very bad, almost a threat to one's health, in particular for children. Non friendly place with communist management. Just pay, and shut up is their slogan. It is unbelievable that in such a beautiful city like Berlin exists such a horrible hotel with bad management leadership.... More

The location is great and for this they charge. It is a Spa with some hotel rooms on the 3rd floor of an appartment building. Old and smelly rooms, not very clean . I would rate it 2Star plus but very overpriced. If you book it and travel by car reserve a parking space . You need it in this... More

I chose this hotel for the location, and because it was less expensive than the Melia right across the river. The location was indeed perfect, and our corner room was delightful---spacious, well-appointed, with three windows providing lots of light. The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was useful for soaking feet tired from walking all over Berlin! Reception was very nice... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
