We arrived and were given very poor customer service by the frantic manager. The hostel is very un-inviting and smells! The place is filthy. The showers, toilets and rooms have been neglected for along time. I would absolutely not recommend staying here!

We arrived in Berlin quite late - it was dark and cold and starting to rain and when we finally made it to the hostel no one would let us in. There was a sign on the door asking us to call a number to check in however we didn't have phones that worked in Germany. All the lights were... More

Cheap accommodation but a very good location. We were staying in the apartment. Very spacious but the rooms would need to be painted and revamped. The ceiling over the shower was very mouldy as there is no fan in the bathroom. The kitchen is fully kitted out with appliances but very little cutlery. More work needs to be put into... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed there for 4 nights. The owner is very nice, friendly and he will explain everything to you when you arrived. The hostel is 5 min walk to the underground and 5 min walking to the supermarket. The location is great! I met some people from around the world. The bedroom was clean and so was... More

This was such a fun experience. The people we met were amazing and the location wasn't too bad (easily accessible by metro). Make sure to check out the guest book for either nightmares or a good laugh. I'd stay here again. Just remember you get what you pay for so this isn't for the high maintenanced traveller.

The place is really bad. Very dirty, dark and overall very scary. The staff was never there and it looked more like an abandoned house than an hostel. The other visitors were not tourists, but workers or students staying there for over a month. Me and my friends were very uncomfortable during our stay there.

I booked this room with my boyfriend for a weekend. We were very impressed with the price; we paid only around 25 euro per night for a private room with a double bed. It is very cheap so we knew the hostel would probably be very basic and didn't expect a lot, but David's did not meet even my lowest... More

Even though we booked a 8 persons room, we got our own for two. Our room was very nice with our own balcony and living space. However, the shower was in the kitchen and both the shower and restroom were not that clean. It is a cheap hostel, so I didn't expect a whole lot out of it.

Staying in Moabit

Neighborhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighborhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city center are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighborhood in the city.
