The rooms are pretty nice in the hostel, we did a 6 person bedroom. I like that each of the beds are very cozy with their own little hole for plugging in electronics. The location was very close to a train station. Place was clean and lots of people always hanging out downstairs.

I had visited this hostel during the Easter break and i must say the entry into the hostel was really great. it looked really modern and artistic. i had to wait for about 20 minutes to get my room. the hostel was located really close to AlenxanderPlatz, which made sightseeing really easy as the S Bahn stop was really close... Only a few steps away from Alexanderplatz, the hotel is a perfect spot to stay at when travelling through the city, assuming you are not very demanding. You need to pay for all, from towels to soap to shower gel, but you are better off stopping by at a local store. The staff is absolutely friendly, although a note to management,... More

I travelled to the One80 Hostel on 8th May as part of a 7 strong Stag Party for the weekend. When we arrived we were very impressed when we walked in and thought it was modern, clean and what seemed a great hostel. But, as we were queuing to check in (which seemed to take forever) - not enough staff... More

You have to pay to leave your baggage with them - only lockers. The only restroom "in the lobby" is downstairs at the club and it stinks. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean. Internet works only with a code that you have to take at the reception and sometimes it expires - and when you have to ask for another... More

Dear Gabrielle, thank you for your review. We're really sorry, you had bad experiences in our hostel. It should not happen, that the rest rooms smells. We will check the procedures and change the cleaning procedure if necessary. We will also take a focus on our staff to be more hospitably. For the lockers, It is not unusual in Berlin... More

I was quite surprised by the attitude of the staff, which was very, very unfriendly and unhelpful (except perhaps one of them). They will also make a big fuss if you need to return to your room after check-out if you forgot something there, making you feel quite terrible about it. There is also no kitchen so you need to... Dear Chloé, thank you for your review. Sometimes the wifi is slow when many guests want to connect with it the same time. You can also ask at the reception to get a second wifi code for your device. Yes, we have no guest kitchen, but you get delicious food at our bar. We will also take take and train... More

I'm part of a french business school charity (the International Office) and we've planned a trip to Berlin on November 2014. This hostel was an excellent choice! Rooms, bathrooms, services and the hostel keepers were excellent! I really recommend this hostel and it is in the city center with a lot of restaurants and place to visit around.

Super location, nice rooms, but there's a lot of people and the common room is just a bar, very noisy no way to just relax. Staff is nice, gives you good tips on what to do. Very Helpful. For a short stay it's ok.

Dear Laure, thank's for your review and your good experiences with our staff. We will forward it to them. Yes, during the summer our bar is very busy. There is a lot of party gooing on. We also have a pub crawl taking place every day. Kind regards, One80Hostel More

Fun hostel with a great staff. Sometimes the bar is slow but the rooms are comfortable and its a great place to meet people. I would highly recommend it. Very well connected by trains. Although there is not much to do around the hostel at night.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
