We got a very good last minute deal, and this hotel was definitely worth the price! Really lovely interiors, done to a high standard - not just the normal hotel chain decor. The room and rest of the hotel were very clean and the staff friendly. Great big windows in the room and our standard room was a good size.... More

Stayed at this hotel for a three day weekend holiday. Loved it. Is in a quieter part of town, very close to the U-bahn Möckernbrücke station (hint - you cant walk through the park over the road as a short cut). On a map, it appears as though its out of the way from everything - but I found everything... More

The hotel was recently renamed to Crowne Plaza Potsdamer Platz. So keep that in mind when looking for it. Some sites still use the old name some the new one. The hotel is in a good location with a U, S bahn stations nearby (4-5 min walk) and the M29 line as well. This makes traveling around the city easy.... More

I just stayed on this hotel for 3 days (which now has a new name, Crowne Plaza Berlin Potsdamer Platz). It was a wonderful experience, everything was perfect. Breakfast was the best I have experienced in Berlin. The room very clean and luxury. The service just excellent. The hotel is situated in a quiet place of Berlin, but still it... More

Okay so this one is confusing at it's in the process of changing name! But it is both the Wyndham Grand and the Crowne Plaza so don't let the confusion put you off. Great hotel, large rooms, fantastic bathrooms with dual shower heads, clean. They have free wifi however it's fairly slow, so not ideal for working. One set of... More

Came to Berlin in April and booked this hotel as it was reasonably central and right opposite the Tempodrom (where we had booked tickets for James Taylor concert). We got off the U-bahn and had a 5 minute walk to the hotel. What nobody had told us was that it had changed its name two days previously to the Crowne... More

Don't worry! The name changed to Crowne Plaza but you can expect a very good and consistent service. Very friendly and really effective staff. Very good, spacious, clean rooms. A good breakfast options (eventually above a 4-star hotel) And, last but not least, a good location. Close enough to Potsdmer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie! And the remains of the Wall.... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
