We stayed one night at Ibis Neukoelln hotel. If you are looking for a budget hotel in Berlin, this may be the good option. Pros: the accomodation is comfortable and clean. close to the U-bahn (Grenzallee) and so a good alternate location if nothing is available in the city center. Most attractions are reachable without or with only 1 time changing of train and well within 20 minutes. One of the smallest IBIS hotels I ever saw but a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.
