The hotel is nice, people at front desk are friendly. The room was fine. Although the hotel is just some steps away from the train and subway station, the room was quite well isolated from the noise. And you are very near from every important place of the city, to visit on foot, by bus, tram, U and S-BAHN.

The hotel is close to many historical locations in the city, and public transit is steps from the main lobby. The breakfast buffet was bountiful, though the staff was slow to fill some of the more popular items (like scrambled eggs). Check-out in the morning was slow and painful; I couldn't tell if it was the staff (they were working... More

On arrival at the hotel we were advised our bookings were cancelled even though we had our confirmations. After some 4 hours the problem was fixed & this only happened due to the manager's involvement. For the 3 days the attitude by the receptionists was very disappointing. The room was small but the norm for Germany. It was very clean... More

Decent hotel in very central location in Berlin. Close to shopping and sites. Quite a large hotel with conference facilities and good for business travelers. For a family trip I would something else - and there is plenty at good rates in Berlin. Slightly worn and many rooms would benefit from a brush up.

I was here for a business trip and I must say I had a great stay here. The hotel offered the best breakfast I've ever experienced in a hotel. The wide range of tea, bread, yogurt, salad, juices were just too pampering and we were spoilt by so many choices. The bed was really comfortable, I had good sleep every... More

My younger brother and I recently went on a "sibs" trip and Berlin was one of our stops in Europe. I travel almost weekly for work, and so I tend to have pretty high expectations for hotels... Knowing we wouldn't likely spend much time in the room, our requirements were 1) Great location and 2) clean and moderately nice. This... More

Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and sites. The hotel lobby is nice with a bar. The breakfast had an array of foods and the service was good. The rooms are small with twin beds. The carpet needs to be replaced, it had visible wear with stains. The bathroom was an okay size. The gym is really small if... More

We stayed at this hotel in 2006 when is was called the Hotel Jolly and is next to the Friedrichstrasse railway station. Our standard room was on 7th floor and overlooked Friedrichstrasse. Despite being on this busy road there was minimal road noise. The hotel is shortly to be renovated, but I did not see anything that required major attention.... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in June 2015 as part of our trip around Europe. It was our 1st time in Berlin and what a great city. We felt very safe here, the city is very clean and food + beer were wonderful. The hotel is in a great location so close to everything we walked everywhere... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
