First, the location: the hotel is near Friedrichstrasse U-Bahn/S-Bahn station so it has ready access to the whole city. It's within short walking distance of Museum Island and Humboldt University. There are many restaurants nearby as well as a grocery store, drug stores, and a Starbucks. And if you don't want to take a cab from the airport, the TXL... More

The location was great as it is at a walking distance from the main attractions. It also provides a great escape route to Tegel airport through the nearby bus stop. The hotel has a Starbucks right next door to it and a shopping center. Very convenient for a short trip like mine was!

While the hotel is next to the railway station the double glazed windows drown out all but the slightest sound of the passing trains. The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. The hotel is very clean and well presented and I would recommend it to anyone, especially the location for getting around Berlin.

Excellent hotel & room amenities, good in-room WiFi (free), very good and assorted breakfast. One of the best possible locations in Mite - immediately next to Tram stop and S+U station with direct trains (30 min.) to Schf. airport. Walking distance to most major touristic sites.

It's all about the location: the NH Berlin Friedrichstrasse is directly alongside Friedrichstrasse station, from which it is possible to get U-Bahn, S-Bahn and regional trains to all other parts of Berlin and beyond. Trams stop directly outside, and many of Berlin's best sights, including Museum Island, Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, are within easy walking distance. There is, quite... More

High quality Hotel on Friedrichstrasse, perfectly placed and in walking distance of most of the top sites, The Dom Cathedral, The Reichstag building, Museum Island, the Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden and many others. Top shops, Theatres, bars and restaurants all nearby. Great bar and restaurant in the hotel also. Room and en-suite superb.

The location was ok, and so was the room. From a walking distance from the S nd U-bahn. The common areas were a mess, full of construction employees and dirty. The hotel was under renovation, wich was terrible. Besides that, even in the Hotel part there were screaming teenagers all night long.

NH Berlin Friedrichstrasse is a well appreciated hotel offering spacious rooms and nearby S- and U-bahn station. The breakfast offers a great variety of options (worth the quite high price). The hotel is locatedin the hart of previous East Berlin, giving the sense of how Berlin was between WWII and the fall of the Wall.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
