Our hosts in Berlin knew what they were doing when they booked 55 people into the NH Hotel Berlin. It is right on the Friedrichstrasse which was chocked full of great shopping and restaurants. The Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie are both short walks away.No cabs were necessary. Every one of our five days in Berlin included different areas that... More

This Hotel is the perfect spot for everybody who wants to be able to walk to the most attractions but still be able to go further distances by Train. As the ring-train-station "Friedrichstraße" is located right at the opposite side of the street it is perfect for everybody who wants to explore as much of Berlin as possible. Besides that,... More

Stayed here last September when I ran the berlin marathon. Very central for all my needs, station as soon as you come out the front door, great location for all the tourist spots. Friendly staff who were only to happy to help.

The free wifi was one of the reasons we ended up picking this hotel, but boy was that a mistake. There technically IS free wifi there, but it is 0.5mbps, which is unusable for anything else than the most basic text-based browsing. It is like taking a time-machine 15 years back in time. Next time I book a hotel, I... More

The location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the Friedrihstrasse station. However that is also the problem - as it could get pretty noise in the middle of the night. We got a room on the 2nd floor and it was right next to the main street. It was not as noisy as I thought but you still... More

Stayed here for five days, primarily for a business conference our global organization held in Berlin. Our room was a junior suite and was very nice (although meeting demands did not allow us to spend a whole bunch of time in the room. The breakfast was excellent, and the meeting room/refreshments were great. I would recommend this hotel for anyone... More

Not a luxury hotel but they really do try hard to make it a good place to stay. A bit noisy from the station but the hotel is pretty well built and quiet unless you are noise sensitive. The street life outside is fun and bumptious. Even those of you that are a bit on the nervous or shy side... More

Problems with the Internet, problems with the phones, problems getting information about services and pricing... I could go on. All around, disappointing. I know I will not return to this hotel. Ever.

Have stayed in nh hotels in Amsterdam and booked here on back of that stay. Nh friedrichstrasse was super as it was so centrally located, lovely room and staff were helpful during stay. Salavtore was such a good help when there was a mix up with taxi collection. Restaurant staff were perfect and we had two tasty meals in hotel... More

NH Friedrichstrasse in Berlin is really a great hotel. Nice spacious rooms, very quiet and all you need is there. A good WiFi completes this all. What about the breakfast? Seen a lot but this was one of the best ever had in Germany. Staff is very friendly and helpfull, we'll be back!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
