We stayed at this hotel in 2006 when is was called the Hotel Jolly and is next to the Friedrichstrasse railway station. Our standard room was on 7th floor and overlooked Friedrichstrasse. Despite being on this busy road there was minimal road noise. The hotel is shortly to be renovated, but I did not see anything that required major attention.... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in June 2015 as part of our trip around Europe. It was our 1st time in Berlin and what a great city. We felt very safe here, the city is very clean and food + beer were wonderful. The hotel is in a great location so close to everything we walked everywhere... More

We stayed here early-mid June 2015, as other reviews say this is a well located hotel. The price is what you might expect for Berlin. The hotel itself is nothing special, a breakfast included in the price would be nice but hey, this is Berlin. It seems a common theme in Berlin that people in the hospitality industry don't have... Great choice for central location on Friedrichstrasse. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn are literally steps outside the hotel door, with Alexanderplatz just a couple of stops up the line. I was able to get pretty much anywhere easily from this stop. (It's so freeing to be able to use decent public transportation and forego the car!) The hotel itself was pleasant... More

A great location in central Berlin, and close to rail services. Reception was terrible - aggressive, unhelpful and no understanding of customer service - we were very close to asking for manager before we had even seen the room! First room rejected as wholly unsuitable, second room OK (a small suite, as reservation) but stained carpets, chipped furniture and generally... More

Hotel is well located close to station, river, high end shopping and major attractions. Bright airy, reasonably modern and comfortable. Bed was comfy, bathroom and showers excellent and quite spacious. We overlooked the main street and with windows opened enjoyed the sounds of a vibrant city, closed at night, noise was not a problem. Staff were friendly and helpful, good... More

Truly is a perfect location. The beds are comfortable, nice bathrooms, great blow dry and very clean! Our room was facing the busy street, but still no noise with windows shut. I'm a big fan of getting good sleep in vacation and I here I definitely could. That sometimes meant we had to leave the clean room sign, and they... More

The hotel is really nice, we got the highest room with a great terrasse and view on whole Berlin so we really enjoyed it. Its situated right in the centre so u can get everywhere just by walking. Fantastic service, very central easy for sight seeing. Good wifi. Comfy beds and a good breakfast really nothing to complain about! My only real point of criticism would be the decor in the rooms junior suit to be exact. Lobby is very modern, lifts with card access to the floors all very good but the decor in the junior suit... Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
