I stayed with my 2 young children in one of the family rooms. The room was spacious and clean. The free Wi-Fi in the hotel including the rooms was an added bonus and was very good. The hotel caters for families and there were several other families with children. Breakfast was very nice although there is usually a queue if... More

The hotel was nice, the breakfast was super. The noise of the traffic was very bad, but with the windows closed the problem was gone. The location was very good, on the Museum Insel and near the metro. There was also a parkinggarage.

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel which is conveniently located near all the main attractions in Berlin. Had a family room which can accomodate 2 adults and 2 children. Underground station about 2 minutes walk away. Breakfast was good but it does get busy between 9 and 10am. There are quite a few families staying here and their waffle... More

A good location that allowed easy access to public transportation and was an easy walk to the main attractions. Breakfast service was superb and efficient. A very well run operation. There's plenty of choice and everyone loves the waffle machine. Rooms were reasonable and what you'd expect. We'd stay again. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The only grumble was a... More

This hotel is located at the Museum Insel and on walking distance of the big Berlin museums. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast is simply great. You can also hire bikes at the hotel 10 euro's for a day and even less if you only need the bike for... More

Novotel Berlin Mitte is located centrally and has easy access to any public transportation. We arrived by train and simply walked to the hotel. The other days we would use the subway as it was 4min away. Rooms have a new look, everything was neat. We had booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids providing their ages and... More

We stayed here as a family of six over the Bank Holiday weekend. This is a clean, comfortable, modern hotel which is perfect for families. The staff at reception and in the bar were friendly, patient and helpful. A good base from which to tour this fascinating city which played such a pivotal role in the history of Europe in... More

Excellent hotel ! Very kind staff, always ready to help. The room was a good size for us (me, my husband and our teenage daughter). Good wi-fi but short space to put the luggage and clothes, but that wasn't a great deal. Very good bathroom, everything clean and good space. All the hotel seems new, in good conditions, modern, we... More

Recently had a 2 night trip to Berlin on an Accor membership deal. You tend to know what you're getting at a Novotel and this was the case. Functional hotel withing a 15 minute walk of Alexanderplatz. Clean hotel and rooms, only one bathrobe for 2 guests and there was a software issue with the card keys but no real... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
