Very clean hotel, staff were very polite and helpful. The location is good, short walk out of the city, and very close to tram stops and underground. Bar prices are pricey. Breakfast isn't cheap but is a lovely continental, buffet style. I'd stop here again if visiting Berlin

A genuinely nice and comfortable hotel not far from the main attractions in Berlin. We stayed in June 15 and found it was a 10 minute walk to the nearest restaurants with Alexanderplatz the main square about a 10 minute tube or 10 minute taxi. There is also a station 30 seconds walk from the hotel. The coffee and tea in... More

It is typical Mercure hotel. Small basic rooms with standard bathroom. Very friendly stuff, good breakfast (better than expected) and nice Sky sports bar to enjoy evening if you travel alone. Location is an advantage as it takes you only 10 minutes walk to Potsdamer Platz with nice shopping and eating opportunities. Also price is more than decent so you... More

Hotel is nothing special but it is well located near Checkpoint Charlie for exploring the city. Hotel room was simple but quite spacious. Beds were a bit hard so I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a few nights. Only real criticism is that the wifi was extremely unstable to the point of being irritating especially having paid... I stayed here for four nights a couple of weeks ago as part of a trip around Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden. I have one of the Accor group loyalty cards so I usually try to stay at either Mercure or Ibis hotels. I like their brands and feel they generally offer good value for money. This particular hotel certainly came... More

Next to the U Bahn, near the city centre. Nice clean rooms with lots of daylight and very quiet. Friendly staff ..There is also a nice cosy bar for a good glas of wine. The breakfast buffet is amazing for his 16 euro. Parking nearby and on walking distance there are some nice restaurants.

i stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. its good value for money and a in very good location (some have queried the location but its very close to the station, close a lot of areas and in particular for kreuzberg). the hallways etc are a little dated but the rooms perfectly fine and i'd happily stay again.

This is a 2 to 3 star hotel. The rooms are small. We had a suite (one of the largest rooms which included a small sitting area), however it was still cramped. The room had no air-conditioning, fan or any ventilation so we had to leave the windows partially opened during the day to allow it to cool down. The... More

Just recently stated three nights. Very sceptical upon arrival. Street that hotel is on isn't at all appealing. Hotel is very nice inside. We had a ground floor room directly opposite reception. Great location both room and hotel. Concierge was always helpful and even made bookings at restaurants. Train station is at en of the street and parking is fantastic... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
