I'm giving this hotel three points, i.e., a normal rating. I could have given it a 4 or even a 5 if it weren't because of an unpleasant finding on entering the room. The stays at this hotel must be payed in advance so, before paying for the night, I asked to inspect the room. We went upstairs and the... More

Located at Kottbusser Dam it's just 5 stops into Alexanderplatz on the ubarn which when you exit left from the hotel is 1 minute up the road. Ticket machine on the platform which has many languages so that was easy as well. The hotel was great. Couple of things like coffee cups not changed and hair still on the bathroom... More

OK, obviously the main thing about Hotel Prens is the location. In the middle of ultra-hip "Kreuzkölln", surrounded by fantastic bars, great restaurants and located right on the beautiful Maybachufer on the river. Other than that: friendly 2-3 star standard, no complaints.

Clean and and great hotel located near the hip neighbourhoods of Kreuzberg and Neukolln. Staff was friendly and polite. The only downside was that there is no air conditon in the rooms. When we were in Berlin it was over 20 C at night, so it was two sweaty nights at Hotel Prens ;)

We have booked a room for four (2 adults and two teenagers) for 2 nights . The hotel is a modest 30 room with a small dining room and an outer deck in the back yard. Situated in a neighborhood packed with ethnic restaurants mostly of Turkish origin but also others including a great Japanese one right outside the hotel... More

We srayed here for three nights in early august. It was really hot up to 36 some days. Unfortunately there was no air con and they only had one fan per room. Other than that the room was fine. It was clean and close to a train station. The downside was that the elevator took you to a landing hslf... More

Hotel is the right offer for the money. It is centrally located at Kottbusser Damm, corner Maybach Ufer The staff was friendly and very supportive (when they towed away my car from the Maybach Ufer - be carefull!). The whole hotel is very clean, the room offer what is promised, was furnitured in a modern, clear style. I had a... More

Room 503 was very noisy, and the curtains were inadequate--so no way to darken the room. We switched to 502 in the back, and though more cramped enabled good night rests. Both rooms only had showers, and no baths, and much too bouncy mattresses. Other than that nothing to complain about. Look at the pics to see the entrance hallway... More

Only stayed one night but everything was fine. Extremely good value for money. Spotlessly clean and good location. Very modern... everything felt brand new. Bed was very comfortable. Bars and cafes nearby. Nice that it's by the canal. Staff were very helpful; let us check in a bit early and looked after our luggage the next day. Thank you!

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
