A nice hotel in a terrific location. The tram runs in front of the hotel so it's a short commute to sightseeing attractions, and either way you turn from the hotel there are bars, restaurants, shopping, and some awesome bakeries. I don't think you could find a hotel in a better location in Berlin. Outdoor dining abounds. The room offerings... More

The room was a bit small but adequate and it had a fan!!! We stayed at ten different lodgings during an 18 day stay in Germany and this was only the second place that had a fan. Since there is no A/C in most hotels/B&B's, this was a very welcome addition. The bathroom was a good size and it was... More

We stayed three nights as part of a tour and will stay there again if we come back to Berlin. Hotel is nicely located - near trams which will take you to the underground in a few minutes. The area has lots of varied and nice restaurants. The staff is excellent - very friendly and pleasant. The rooms were nice... More

Great location and easy access to public transpotation. This is a great hotel to plan all of your Berlin sightseeing adventures. Helpful front desk staff and a new bar has been built downstairs which is convenient. Breakfast is available but this is a thriving neighborhood with tons of local bakeries and restaurants a short walk away.

This is not high end but it is high value. It is a smallish, family owned, charming, super clean, comfortable hotel with plenty of hot water, a great location, close to transportation, adequate WiFi, and a breakfast that rocks. Loved the neighborhood, a quite city street that is minutes from the center of Berlin via tram or an enjoyable walk.... More

Rooms are clean and comfortable, if rather small and spartan - good basic accommodations. We were delighted with the location - a great neighborhood with good transit and plenty of cool shops and restaurants - and noticed no other hotels nearby. We did find the street noise a bit intrusive, and would definitely recommend asking for a rear-facing room. We... More

Title of review says it all! The rooms were wonderful, the staff exceptional, the location convenient and in an exciting neighborhood, the breakfast had a good variety and I would definately stay here again.

Rooms very clean and complementary toiletries was a nice touch. Plenty of wardrobe space and mini fridge and safe box (unusually there was a charge for the safe). My only criticism would be that the overhead bedside lamp was very low and so one could very easily catch your head on it. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety and... More

This is a basic hotel, good value and comfortable - but you stay here for the location. Tram 1 stop is right across the street (takes you to Museum Island), UBahn stop is a 5 minute walk (2 stops to AlexanderPlatz) but stay and explore the immediate neighborhood for funky restaurants and coffee bars, parks (with ping pong tables and... Lovely hotel, very clean and has everything you need. The location was perfect for us - loads of lovely places to eat and drink nearby. Very quiet as well and nice friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again if and when I return to Berlin.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
