My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and we were very impressed with the accommodations and the service of the staff. They were very helpful and even gave us directions to get to the hotel from the airport when we requested it via the booking website. They speak English and helped us made some very touristy decisions such... More

Pleasant hotel in the Prenzlauerberg neighborhood. The building is on a streetcar line, so there may be some room noise, but the windows seal very well. There are also automatic outdoor shades that keep the room cozy. The room was fairly large, with a decent sized bathroom (hard water). The staff was very friendly and helpful with local information and... More

We travel each year as a group of friends and prefer hotels with character but also a high standard. We were not disappointed. Very clean well appointed rooms. Good continental style breakfast interesting decor in public areas with old maps pictures and shop signs. Friendly helpful staff I was slightly wary when I booked it that it was described as... Excellent location. Nice rooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast (7 euro ) and the surroundings are exceptionally relaxed and invite (to stroll, sit in one of the many bars/ restaurants/ coffee places ). Lots of young people live in this neighborhood so action not too loud but smiling. Easy to get by U Bahn it M. Only thing... More

Dear guests, We thank you very much for your kind valuation of our hotel. We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us in this area. Please allow us just to explain what you remarked critically: For reasons of environment protection we decided not to provide individual packaging as of shampoo for example in the guest’s bathrooms... A pleasant hotel in a good location. Average European room size. Very good breakfast. Located on a tram route, which is convenient for getting around the city, however, if you have a room on the street, you will hear the trams traveling all night, so bring your ear plugs, in case.

Kastanienallee is one of the nicest streets in former East Berlin. Lot's of nice cafes and restaurants, easy access to other great locations at Prenzlauer Berg. This hotel gives great to access to everything that is cool about Berlin. Friendly staff, rooms clean and lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was also really, really good.

This was our fifth short stay in Berlin, all in midrange hotels. This was the best and we come again. Friendly staff with day-pass for public transport. Comfort room and bathroom, sleepy beds. Well decorated with historical things, foto's mostly. The hotel is very well maintained with a loving care I think. Tasty breakfast buffet with many good choices. Coffee... More

The hotel is located in a must visit district of Berlin: Prenzlauer Berg in so called "Mitte". The hotel seems to be one of the last private owned ones in the area, and can easily compete with the prices of the usual budget hotels like Meininger. And it offers much more comfort and quality, for a better price. I can... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
