I Stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is very easy to find and only 2 min walking from the metro station. The rooms are very tiny and the lights are very weak, but it's very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Since it's in a corner, it can be a little noisy so bring ear plugs... More

This hotel was very basic but clean and it's position makes it very easy to reach most of the sights you would wish to see in Berlin either on foot or by public transport. However this is the same reason that makes it very noisy - two tram lines meet virtually at the door, the train line is also very... More

The room is just like the pictures on website but we were still a bit surprised how tight the space was. It is very basic room and adequately clean. The staff is friendly and they are not there 24 hours. There is a big parking lot in front of hotel. The location is very convenient for sightseeing in Berlin. It... More

I stayed for 2 nights and it was very nice. Clean rooms, safe area, close to Berliner Dom and Alexanderplatz. Not 24 hr reception however so available service was minimal.

This hotel is fantastically located - just a few minutes away from Museum Island and next to an S-Bahn station surrounded by neat little restaurants. The service was ok, and the front desk person leaves around six or seven. The light in our hallway was flickering, and the light in the elevator was eerie and flourescent. Our room was long... More

The Hotel Taunus could not be in a better location. It is within easy walking distance to the train and to Museum Island, and the immediate area is certainly the place to be at night! There is an open market; there are bands and cafes; and there is the widest variety of people you can imagine! It is a safe,... More

As a frequent traveller to Berlin, I'd say the pros and cons of this hotel compared to hotels of equal prize are as following: Pros: The neighbourhood...the hotel is located in between Oranienburger Strasse and Hackesche Höfe which means you are equally close to great dining, shopping and transportation facilities...and only a 10 minute walk away from Alexander Platz. The... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
