We needed a simple hotel in Berlin for one night. Since we are students we don't have too much money and this hotel was really good. It was not directly in the city centre but the s-bahn went every 4th minute so it was good. The room was clean and big. The bed was also big. For a simple few... More

Spent 2 nights here. Was quite hot during the summer. Not many windows. Building was kind of nice (old antique style). No air conditioning unfortunately. Price was very reasonable though Problems - rooms were not self contained and one had to go to a general, communal shower. Also there was no breakfast served - which I thought was quite poor... The Hostel is situated near the Charlottenburg S-Bahn and railway station, which make it attractive for those, who wants to visit the city center and spend less money for hotel and more for souvenirs etc., and for those, who just like we did, waits for the early plain. I spend only 6 hours in this hostel and for such short... More

It's cheap for a reason! The staff was friendly, but the building could've done with some renovations. Also, there's no elevator, so pack light unless you want to haul your suitcase up multiple flights of stairs. We had a private double room-it had two twin beds pushed together, a desk, small TV and a wash basin and mirror with hot... More

Location is perfect for a city trip. The staff is friendly. I stayed in a double room with private bathroom; the room needs some renovations and the bed is a bit uncomfortable, while the bathroom is renewed and cleaned regularly (towels included). Free internet and a rich breakfast were included in the price (otherwise breakfast would costs 10 euros per... More

Berolina has a great location, just outside an S-bahn station and about twenty minutes walk from the main bus station. Still it was very quiet there and we couldn't hear the trains at all. However, we could hear our neighbours coming in and out as the walls are almost paper thin. We stayed on the $th floor and as there... More

After reading a few of the reviews which mentioned noise at this hotel/hostel, we were a little worried about whether we would be able to sleep. However, despite being just across the road from a train station, our twin room on the third floor was quiet and clean. The windows had double glazing (which must have helped) and there didn't... I have just come back from a 3 night stay at this hotel, which is basically a hostel. I have never stayed in a place like it before and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean (although the bin stank even when empty!), the communal showers/toilet/sinks were cleaned regularly and I didn't have to... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
