Be very careful when you arrive, because there's a big sign that says Ballhaus Berlin instead of Baxpax (they're together). Also be careful with the food in the kitchen, because the one that belongs to each guests and the one the hostel gives for free are mixed. You have to check if they have a name. The showers don't have... More

After a 24 mishap and nowhere to stay my friend Calem and I had last minute check in and we were very pleased with the result! The staff were helpful and the facilities were good, apart from the lack of plugs in the shared room. Love the decor with different themes in every room and we even made a friend... More

I was in Berlin for the last 3 days, and have to admit I enjoyed the night life and got to see Berling thanks to Baxpax hostel. They have the best options available for all sorts of tours and the people at the reception are even more helpful in suggesting which ones to go for. Rooms were cute and the... More

when we found this hotel did not expect from it too much. but, surprise surprise , 1) this hotel is in very good place (near metro station) 2) very friendly staff (they helped us with maps and even helped to print our boarding paper) 3) we left our baggage in hotel (before we checked) 4) the room was very comfortable... The good thing for this hostel is the price, it's cheap and in the centre of town and near a Ubhan station. The bad thing we don't feel confortable with security, we were afraid to be rope because the cadena were weak, second bad thing you have no shower in the room so when the hostel is full you have... The hostel is pretty average. The employees are not very useful in helping you discovering the city. The rooms are ok but the wifi doesn't work in them half of the time. It's not that close to everything but at least there's a metro station right next to the hostel. There are many other good hostels that would be a... More

Each room has it's own style, which is nice. Hostel is clean, quiet, has free wi-fi. There are many nice places in the neighborhood. Staff is helpful and very friendly. I recommend this hostel as a great place to stay while in Berlin!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
