Stayed in a twin room at The Circus hostel for 4 nights. Price was really reasonable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, had lots of advice to offer! The transport links to the U-bahn, tram and buses are excellent and The Circus has a discounted travel day pass available for guests. They offer daily walking tours and the... More

Circus Hostel is a well kept accommodation, with clean rooms and very nice staff members. The location is great allowing you to go everywhere by foot or use the trains/buses easily. The hostel has their own brewery (!) and a small bar in the basement. The 5 euro breakfast was worth the small fee - delicious! I would go there... More

The Circus Hostel in Berlin is, without question, my favourite place I've ever stayed in whilst travelling. Every place I stay now, I ask; is this as good as The Circus in Berlin? I've yet to find anywhere that is. We've been twice in two years! It's located next to a busy, and yes at times, loud intersection right next... More

It was the cutest and coolest hostel we stayed at our trip. Just loved the design, and rooms were very clean. The breakfast, altought it was paid, it was really good. However, if you are lookinf to party, dont go there. Yes, I loved it, but I also wanted to party and things were kind of slow there. I woulndt... More

Booked a 6 night stay as a budget option whilst I was in town on a conference. Had a single room with shared bathroom. The single room was fine, but as its a hostel it's literally just a bed, desk, light no tv, fridge, phone or kettle. Also the hostel has no central kitchen which is annoying as had to keep... More

This is an amazing hostel! Stayed there back in August and had an amazing time. It's better then most hotels I've been to. The location is AMAZING, the staff is GREAT and the bar underneath is super fun. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom spotless. There's great restaurants around the place and a great market right in front... More

This place was amazing. Everything was clean, looks lovely and has everything you could need. I was a solo traveller and was a little bit worried about being alone for the whole trip, but it's impossible not to meet people here. Everyone in my ten bed dorm was great, we actually ended up going out together a lot, and the... More

Very nice! The rooms were spotless and nicely decorated. The water pressure in the shower was amazing. The room was a little small, but it didn't feel it. The hotel is located next to a metro, train and bus stop. It is very noisy because of this, but only when you open the windows! Remember to pick up shower stuff... More

Great place, good location, friendly staff. The double room I booked was clean and looked nice. The breakfast is good. Unfortunately it was booked last time I came to Berlin, but I would definitely stay there again.

My room (8 bed dorm) was spotless when I checked in. There are communal toilets as well as toilets and showers on each floor, which were all clean everytime I used them. The showers water pressure and temperature were both fantastic. I had a German sim card so didn't need the WiFi much but the few times I connected to... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
