Very friendly hostel. Staff is helpful and the neighborhood is amazing, felt very safe and confortable. Once a week there is a street fair close to the hostel, with lots of local foods and fruits. There´re some nice electronic music bars close too.

I´ve been in a private room with ensuite bathroom, it was a big room with a nice kitchen. Nice staff, good location, near supermarkets, train, restaurants, everything you need in a hostel and it was quite cheap, nothing to complain about it.

Hostel with very good value for money. No seeming forgery, nor of flourish. Room with bedding comfortable, but not too much. Slight drawback for the WiFi which does not get in rooms, little of showers, as well as cleanliness of these...

The management seems absent. Odd people occupy the kitchen-common room abusing everybody else with dirtiness everywhere and very loud noises. The only computer seems their monopoly. Equally the limited available space. In the rooms, it is sometimes worse than in a railway station, with people clearly coming from outside the hostel, so NOT hostel guests, and sleeping with their friends... More

I rented for 1 night one of the private apartment Lette'm sleep offers. 69 euros for 1 room apartment with no internet access, basic depressing furniture, no soap in the bathroom, no TV, dull light. Basic basic but the price is quite high compared to what you get. You can find much better on air bnb. No client on air... More

Fantastic place to stay. Would recommend highly. Clean apartments. Resonable rates. Lovely people! Have stayed at this hostel many times. The building is huge and full of character. Have always felt safe and well cared for there. Planning another stay this year. Brilliant :)

We've stayed here three times now and it's a great place to call your base when in Berlin. The first two trips we stayed in a double room (with little fridge, cooker and sink) and this year we hired one of their apartments. All three experiences have been brilliant. The room is fairly small but brightly painted and light with... More

We didn't stay in the hostel but in the appartments. They are very 'Ikea' but clean, comfortable and in a nice neighbourhood. Staff is helpful, even if you arrive late at night. The communual room seemed clean and nice as wel.

My room was really dirty when i first arrived, it was cleaned a bit the next day but still not fully. My locker was also broken which i said to the owner, she said her husband would fix it but never did. The showers have a TERRIBLE smell when you use them, smells like rotten eggy sewage coming from the... More

When we arrived at the hostel, everything looked a bit dodgy as it was late evening. However, once inside, we got our keys with no problem. We had an apartment with its own kitchen and bathroom. It was basic but perfect for our needs. It's a bit out of the way of the major sights, but there is a train... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
