A fantastic hotel located in good spot if you are planning to visit Berlin. Rooms are very big and clean. Service is ok. We got a beautiful apartment with a stunning view of the city. Little bit pricy but worthy! Recommended!

While for searching for a reasonable hotel in Berlin, I am glad that I found the Sylter Hof. The location is almost perfect, close to the center, Berlin Zoo, the shopping district. The staff was very charming and friendly. Got a pretty big room. Suitable for a family of four. Only issue was the wifi, otherwise highly recommended.

We have just returned from a three night stay in this hotel. We stayed on a B&B basis and could not fault the breakfast. The range was enormous. A choice from about 10 teas, coffee pot on every table plus cold drinks. The food - cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, cold meats, pate, fruit, salad, bacon, sausage, scramble or boiled egg, croissant,... I had a comfortable stay at the hotel. Friendly welcoming smile at reception for a late check in was nice. Bed and room were comfortable with all facilities good. Building has a dark history from WWII as was highlighted at the bus stop in front of the hotel. Next door to kleine nachtrevue. Was closed when I was there so... More

Room was clean, tidy and modern. Free WiFi was a bit slow but still useful. Staff were lovely. Hotel is only a few minutes walk from town, zoo and train station. Very good location and good price. Wish it had had a kettle though.

I stayed at Sylter Hof over new years and I liked every aspect: First I wanted to rearragne my booking (change my single room to a double room for nights 2 and 3 of 3), no problem, no charge. Then I arrived pretty late, all night counter was open. The room change went flawlessly, both rooms were clean and big... More

The hotel is in an excellent location, nearby a busy shopping district and is very easy to get to. Beds are very comfortable and it is so quiet, definitely can sleep peacefully without any interruptions (our room was 4th floor at the rear of the hotel). Breakfast was good and there was a selection of cold meats, cheeses, vegetables, breads,... More

You know that dogs have a better hearing than humans, well my Aisha has an even better one due to being born blind so the slightest noise would wake her up and running/barking which means nobody will any longer sleep... Well it wasn't the case because in this hotel we could just close a couple of doors in between the... More

A fine hotel located near centrum of Tiergarten and Kurfurstendamm. We stayed in a family room with lot of space for a family. Friendy staff. A good breakfast was included in our stay and all in all we have a feeling of "Value for money" after our stay.

This hotel was very pleasant to stay at, very comfortable to sleep in , very good breakfast and very helpful and pleasant staff. We stayed there to enjoy the Christmas markets and local sites, to our amazement everything to see in Berlin was just a short walk or bus ride away, bus stop right outside hotel..

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
