The room has been canceled as we arrived in Berlin. Within my booking request, I informed the hotel about an arrival time very early in the morning the next day. The hotel confirmed the booking. It was around 7 am in the morning. I had to wait and to stand the 2 two agressive peoble at the lobby. After a... More

A nice hotel located not too far from the city. Small rooms, clean and equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Tasty buffet for breakfast. Friendly and cooperative staff, a small leakage in the bath was immediately repaired.

Great hotel. The location of this hotel is very close to the Berlin Zoo and very close walking distance from the subway. Berlin’s subways are really advanced so once we learned those we found the location to be amazing. For $50 a night, we couldn’t have found a better place to stay. The hotel was modern and the room that... More

Very nice staffs, very clean, good location, quiet, fast wifi. I even borrowed two adaptors from them, it was really helpful. It was not very easy to find the hotel at the first time, but actually it is quite close to a U-bahn.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 days in December. We liked the hotel. Our room was big, light and clean. Bathroom was also clean and everything worked. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is only one thing to complain about- no dishes at all. But despite this fact I will stay in this hotel if I come.

Hotel Sylter Hof in Berlin is a typical hotel for business visitors. It has all the facilities needed for a nice stay. Nice rooms, ordinary breakfast and a modern interior. The best thing about this hotel is the location, ten minutes walk from Europa Platz and Kurfurstendamm.

Very good hotel, centrally located. Very good breakfast. Friendly staff. No wifi included in the room price. Must now pay 5 Euro for 24 hours. Got an upgraded room, a suite on the 1o th floor, with a good view over the city.

We returned to the Sylter Hof for our second stay there and we were not disappointed! Location the room itself, and most of all the breakfast are all excellent. Only downside is that there is no free wi-fi in the room but you can go to reception and in the seating area there can get up to 30 minutes free.

Stayed at Hotel Sylter Hof as part of my 50th birthday celebration and was very pleased that we did. We found the staff to be very helpful informative and very polite. The Hotel Sylter Hof is very well placed, especially if you are visiting Berlin for the Christmas markets, with one almost on its doorstep. The breakfast is also excellent, with a lovely choice of cereals, cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, coffee and a selection of teas. The waiting staff were also very polite and attentive. However the bedrooms seem to... More

Dear guest Thank you for rating us. As we are situated in the city centre of Berlin west we noticed that our guest prefer to buy their own beverages in the supermarkets near our hotel. Nevertheless we hope to welcome you back maybe in one of our double rooms or spacious apartments. Kind regards and a Merry Christmas! Caroline Bartels... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
