5 minutes walk to Metro station. Clean rooms and good breakfast.(Open Buffet 11 Euro). I recommend this hotel according to my cost and benefit analysis. But if you turn right from the hotel and go along the street at the night time you can face some hookers along the street. So be careful where you are going:) Have a nice... More

The Good: Spacious, clean room at a reasonable price. Decent location with access to Bus Line 100 out the front door, nearby S-bahn station, restaurants and shops within walking distance, easy access to Tiergarten. Friendly staff willing to assist and answer questions. The Bad: Dated hotel that saw it's best days 20 years ago. Uncomfortable beds and poor quality linens.... More

Good, clean hotel with a very good location in West Berlin. Nice stuff. A bit old fashioned place but really confortable stay. The WiFi worked very well in the room. Really quiet environment. And the price was absolutely unbeatable.

Hotel Sylter Hof's location is great. Zoologischer Garten is 15min walk away. Lots of nice and good priced -even local ones- restaurants are around. Beds are really comfortable and clean. Wifi signal in my room was a bit poor.

The staff was friendly and the location right where I needed it to be. The room was clean, however very small (almost no spot to open luggage, conflict with the bathroom door to access the toilet,...) and very noisy ! It felt like the window was open when it wasn't, traffic was loud so hard to rest.

Dear guest Thank you very much for rating us. You are right our single rooms are quite small maybe a double room would be better next time. There you have more space and the possibility to get a room with view to the backyard. We hope to see you soon again. Best regards Caroline Bartels Sales More

Hotel Sylter Hof is well located, just 10 minutes walk from the trafic hub Zoologischer Garten with S- and U-bahn as well as several bus lines. Bus No. 100 stops few meters from the hotel entrance. The hotel is nice and clean, well kept but old fashioned. We stayed in a suite on the top floor with a nice living... More

Excellent location but rooms looking to the street are very noisy. Room was small and clean except the footprints on the wall. I contacted the hotel both by e-mail and phone. First they did not answer for ten days and when I called them I could not get what I needed any more. I sent a new mail and no... More

Dear guest, thank you for the good rating and the comment as well. Afterwards it is difficult to say what went wrong. But of course it is incorrect to wait ten days for an answer. We very much apologize ! Normally we get in contact with our guests within 24h. We are looking forward to seeing you soon again. Best... More

Great location, fabulous breakfast, nice beds, surrounded by reasonably priced restaurants. Bus stops outside to Brandenburg Gate, Tier Garden, train station, circular route €1-2 depending on distance. Ka De We department store and pink champagne bar 5 minutes walk.

I like to return to this hotel although it is not the top of the bill (but you aso pay a very decent price, even for Berlin). When I arrived quite early they had no room yet available. The lobby is spacious so room for some waiting. It is alos the bar during the afternoon, but lacks atmosphere for tht... More

The hotel is very well located, close to the biggest park and the best shopping area of the city. Bus stop in front of the hotel for the bus 100, wich takes us to the main attractions of the city. On the first corner, another bus station with lines to other great attractions. If you're traveling through Tagel Airport, you... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
