This is a lovely hotel with walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Staff are very helpful and I can highly recommend a stay here. Only negative is that a single room is quite tiny. Nowhere to fit a full size suitcase.

Conveniently located within walking distance to the Tiergarten, the Kurfurstendamm and with good access to public transport to the city centre. The hotel offers excellent value for money in terms of location, staff friendliness, parking facilities, access to public transport, and cleanliness It is also next door to the Kleine Nachtrevue cabaret in case one wants to enjoy a "typical"... For a 3* hotel this was very impressive. Staff were helpful multilingual and efficient. There will be more expensive 4 &5* marble palaces and our room did show its age a bit, but We had a separate small room with single beds for our two teenagers. My only criticism would be the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room.... More

I booked a suite for two different stays at this hotel, as the rates were extremely competitive. The suite for my first stay was on the top floor and had some of the most extraordinary views one can imagine in Berlin (Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtnis Kirche, Tiergarten, Siegessäule, etc...). The suite was quite large and there was enough room to store... More

Good location, bus 100 picks you up right outside the hotel and goes past all the stops for the main sights - so saves you money rather than paying for a tour bus, The room was spacious - fantastic view of Berlin! The room had a kitchen which was pointless as no cutlery! This was an extra cost, Wifi also... More

I recently returned from a trip to Berlin in which I stayed six nights at the Sylter Hof Berlin. Although the hotel is in a convenient location for seeing the city, it offers little else. The hotel is not designed for guests. Their welcome, comfort and convenience is not a consideration. For example: Although our room was large (suite) with... More

My first visit to Berlin. Went with my cousin and he chose the hotel. Perfect location. A bus stop just outside. Very close to the zoo. The hotel was clean and warm. There was a conference so we were both upgraded from two single to two double without ant request. Wifi available. Free in lobby for half an hour or... More

I stayed here for four days when I was visiting Grüne Woche. We were met by a friendly staff in the reception. The room was small, but it was nice and clean. Breakfast was ok. The only matter to complain about was that housekeeping did not wait till we went out for the day. They started cleaning when we went... More

The room has been canceled as we arrived in Berlin. Within my booking request, I informed the hotel about an arrival time very early in the morning the next day. The hotel confirmed the booking. It was around 7 am in the morning. I had to wait and to stand the 2 two agressive peoble at the lobby. After a... More

A nice hotel located not too far from the city. Small rooms, clean and equipped with everything needed for a short stay. Tasty buffet for breakfast. Friendly and cooperative staff, a small leakage in the bath was immediately repaired.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
