This hotel was very clean and I had a large room. It's in a great location in Berlin. It is being renovated as there was a note in room notifying guests of this. This is good as decor is a bit dated. Spotlessly clean room. Would prefer a double or queen bed, not 2 king singles put together as the... More

Service was good and very friendly. We had a room with two bedrooms. It was very spacious and clean. Only problem was the wifi, you needed to enter the user code and password every time and at some parts of the room it didn't work properly. Breakfast was nice, plenty to choose from. Only problem was that every morning something... More

This Mercure is fantastic and probably one of the best Mercure I ever stayed. Just 5 minutes walking from Checkpoint Charlie but in a very calm street and beautiful building. The Hotel was full and we stay in the apartments building. The decoration of the Hotel is modern and cosy at same time. Staff is very kind, professional and always... More

We stayed in a triple room for two nights. The room was the biggest I've ever stayed in, with separate bathroom and toilet which was useful. All areas were very clean. The main beds were comfortable but the sofa bed was too hard. The aircon didn't reach much of the room so it got very hot and stuffy. Decent free... More

Booked 3 person room for 3 nights. First night was a bit of a pain for the third person as the sofa bed was not suitable for an adult to sleep in. Was taken care of the next day, wasn't a surprise for the staff. Since they knew I would recommend the hotel not to use sofa bed for adults... More

The hotel is just around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie. Rooms are very well appointed and very clean. The breakfast is quite splendid with something for everyone. You are within walking distance from the U bahn network as well as being close to many fine restaurants.

very good location and convenient for sightseeing and for Ubahn. The Privilege family suite was very spacious and well appointed, and is very good value. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and regularly replenished. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel has got a good location, the rooms's size is very good with plenty of space. When we arrived our room ( a non-smoking room) was with a strong smoking smelll. We told that to the receptionist girl as it is very unpleasant to sleep with such a smell. She was rude and talked to us as of it... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
