Hotel is very easily accessible via the train, and is based right in the centre of everything you could wish to see in Berlin. We walked everywhere and found this was a comfortable and quiet hotel to come back to of an evening. There is a bar downstairs and the breakfast is fantastic. So much choice and will fill you... The entire staff at Mercure Hotel was outstanding. They took the time to teach us how to use Berlin's subways and trains. Every hotel staff member seemed happy and was always willing to help us in any way. They always greeted us each time we walked through the doors. The rooms were clean and tidy. Nice balcony with a view... More

Great location, friendly helpful staff, quiet, very near Friedichstrasse and Unter den Linden. We were there just after Easter and used our Berlintravlcard extensively on buses. Take 100 or 200 from Unter den Linden to all major sites. Bus TXL is best to and from Tegel airport. Expect lots of building work around the city though and some teams and... More

We were here for the Easter weekend. The hotel is very well situated for visiting all the sights. Checkpoint Charlie is just around the corner, Brandenburg Gate is a 20 minute leisurely walk, with the Reichstag just beyond it. The nearest U bahn to the hotel is 5-minute walk away.

we stayed for 3 nights an the Mercure at the end of March 2015. We found the location to be great, only a couple of blocks from Checkpoint Charlie and Stade Mitte UBahn station. The room was spacious and newly decorated (renovation works previously mentioned by reviews are now complete), with complimentary coffee pod machine. The room was available from... More

Really enjoyed outstanding hospitality and service in an excellent hotel with all the needed facilities. Staff was very warm and service-minded and rooms were in perfect order! Very convenient location and all main "must-see's" in fact on walking distance, starting with Checkpoint Charlie at a couple of hundred meters! Surely worth to recommend to others, which we did already!

Hotel is very good value with very nice, helpful staff and in an excellent location to get to the main Berlin attractions (5 minute walk to checkpoint charlie if you stroll, 30 minutes to the brandenburg gate, 20 minutes to potsdammer platz, 20 minutes to museum island etc), also close to an underground station. Rooms our group had ranged from... More

Loved this hotel, staff all so friendly and helpful. Good location as others have said but hotel was so quiet at night. Loved my big room on 8th floor and I had no problem with the wi-fi. Bed also very comfy and the shower was lovely. I like the hotel's re-fit. Would stay there again.

My husband had a conference in Berlin, so we turned it into a bit of a tourist trip. VERY nice staff, excellent service in both bar and restaurant. We had a premium room, which was very nice, super clean, and quiet (even next to the lift). The gym is tiny (1 elip, 1 tread), though they do have a nice... More

I was in Berlin to run the half marathon. The hotel staff was very helpful and nice. The persons at the front desk were pleased to help me with a late check-out, due to the arrival after the run, for no extra charge. According to that I got a room upgrade as well. /Andreas Stockholm, Sweden

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
