The Ibis Hotel near the Ost-Bahnhof in Berlin is a very good place to stay if you need a base to explore Berlin. Bordering on the world-famous 1.3 km stretch of the Berlin wall that has been kept intact, close to the East-Station you can very quickly get from one place to another. The hotel is basic, as Ibis is,... More

I stayed at the Ibis for a total of five nights. If you are expecting a plush and warm experience then this may not be the right hotel for you. My room was very small and utilitarian with laminate flooring, built in desk, and clean but basic bathroom. It was fine for what I needed since I was on business... More

Here is my story. I booked the hotel on booking.com and used EURO as currency cause I have the debit card in EURO and wanted to pay in EURO cause Germany, Berlin is area of EURO. I printed confirmation and provided it on reception to one of hotel’s employee. The confirmation also included the payment in EURO. They asked me... More

Stayed here for 3 nights from February 3rd. Good clean hotel up to ibis normal standards. Staff were friendly and helpfull allowing for my total lack of German. Area is a bit run down. But is showing signs of continued redevelopment after the fall of the wall. Already booked to return in August.

I was on business in Berlin, this was closed budget hotel from the venue. It was a good pick as the location was very convenient for both work and later to explore the city. Here are some notes from my trip. 1. Ibis offers free wifi and a good breakfast spread. Rooms are clean and have sufficient utilities. 2. You... More

I chose this hotel as it is just a five minute walk from the station and by the river but it backfired a bit as the train drivers were on strike and the only public transport was the U bahn a 25 minute walk away (I later found out that a no 347 bus from the station would have taken... More

I recently stayed 4 nights at the Ibis Ostbahnhof as the hotels I normally stay in whilst in Berlin we full due to a large trade fair being held in Berlin The Ibis Ostbahnhof is like every other Ibis hotel I have stayed in, so it maintains a consistent standard for the hotel brand. The room is fairly small, but... More

The hotel was conveniently located just across the Ostbanhof S Bahn station and that can get you anywhere you desire to go in Berlin. For unlimited public transport rides buy the 'Berlin Welcome Card'. Ostbahnof is a relatively quieter location compared to Hackesher Market & Alexander Platz where all the good restaurants are located. It is walking distance from night... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighborhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
