Trying to find the Hotel was a problem but we got there eventually thanks to two Policeofficers who gave us a lift! The hotel is basic but had everything we needed. The room we had was very big and had a lovely balcony. It is situated on a busy road and as it was very warm we had to keep... More

We arrived there and the experience with the hotel was not good. The receptionist was very unfriendly. We were locked out twice and it took a long time until we could get in. Once we went back to the apartment and they had closed down the main door and asking for money from .

An interesting experience. During my whole time there I never met anyone - except the serving staff at the breakfast bar in the restaurant at the bottom of the building (which BTW was pretty good). Your key is presented to you after you electronically identify yourself and without the aid of lights (I arrived at night) and with very poor... More

Arrived at this hotel late at night after a nine hour train journey to find check in was on a machine, a machine which did not recongise my booking. Fustrated I contacted several numbers, all of which would not connect until there was one number that did. I was told to wait five minutes and fifteen minutes later a flustered... More

We stayed in the Amary City Residence over New Year. Although we enjoyed the trip to Berlin immensely, the 'bed situation' as it came to be known still haunts me when I'm in my double bed at night. The apartments itself are fairly good value, but for what amounted to about 65 pound a night I'd expect a double room... More

first time in a rented apartment. equipment is basic but sufficient (didn't even use the kitchen) bed of poor quality (squeaky and seemed fragile) tiny bathroom fine for those who will just spend a few hours sleeping, or prefer cooking themselves rather than eating in the numerous surrounding restaurants and snack.

Location : very good, just near the U and S stations. Supermarkets and food stores are just around the corner. Beautiful Charlottenburg Palace and Garden in 2 bus stops. Room : you must be prepared , this is not a hotel in common sense. Actually you rent an apartment with kitchen , and if you take 1 week, nobody from... More

The promises over the web and the reality does not meet. The room was clean but with very old furniture, I think from the 60's and not just the style. There is a lot of noise from the surroundings - for example there is a auto care shop on the first floor. The bath is very tiny . The staff... More

Very handy location, near to U-bahn lines 2 and 7, also walking distance to S-bahn line. Airport bus 109 from Tegel Airport stops on the corner of Bismarkstrasse. All of which makes the apartment and Berlin very user-friendly. The room was a good size, bathroom compact but with a great shower. Didn't cook but there were four electric rings and... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
