Customers who book through travel packages online get old and noisy rooms without air conditioning or fans on the upper floors overlooking the noisy street. So you can't sleep with open windows: a shame when it's 35°C plus outside (and inside) ! The reception and cleaning staff are nice and willing to help. But the restaurant staff are barely polite.... So sorry to read you did not enjoy your stay with us. Please let us comment on your remarks: We do offer refurbished rooms which can be booked as "Comfort Rooms" including free drinks. Our hotel does not offer air conditioning in all rooms. Unfortunately. It has nothing to do with the type of booking. Fans are provided. If you... More

The room was larger and nicer than I expected. It looked like it had been recently refurbished. The bathroom was particularly generous in size. The hotel itself is ideally located. It is less than a block from main transit hubs and is situated on a quiet block that has plenty to offer, including a late night doner kebab, several restaurants,... More

I like this Hotel very much and I always feel well taken care of (stayed five times now). Staff are very polite and answer to my needs. The location just beside U-Wittenbergplatz and KaDeWe Department Store is fantastic! The only set backs on my last stay was that the WiFi was a bit weak. And secondly a maintenance work for... More

This was my third stay at the Sorat Ambassador Hotel. A block from the Wittenbergplatz U-bahn station or a €20 cab ride from Tegel airport. There is a grocery store on the corner, K de W is close. It's a very convenient place to stay. The staff is helpful and completely fluent in English. Great lace to stay!

I stayed here with my Partner for 4 nights. We were upgraded and were amazed at the size of the room and value for money. It was a pity that we didn't have an opportunity to sample the breakfast at an additional 13 euros. The room was cleaned everyday and there was tea/coffee and free mineral water. A great location... Stayed for 5 nights in this lovely hotel. The rooms are basic, but clean. The location is fantastic - 5 mins to the u-bahn and Ku'damm str., very close to the Zoo and park. The staff were brilliant - very friendly (especially with my 5yr old son!) and they make great mojitos... I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located 2 minute walk away from the Wittenbergplatz U Bahn station which is also where the KaDeWe department store is. The bus stop for the 100 and 200 bus is 1 minute walk away in the other direction. Check in was quick and efficient. The room was fairly large but basic. Had a huge closet but no... More

This hotel is a personal favorite. It is comfortable and pleasant but the real joy is the location and the ease of access to so much that is great in Berlin. Half a block to Wittenbergplatz Ubahn and KaDeWe (the best department store in Europe). Half a block to bus route 100 which takes you to Alexanderplatz via the Victory... More

I stayed here in room 402 from May 29th until June 1st. Ok price and really good location. However... - the wifi went up and down, up and down, and you can only use one device and can not switch between phone and ipad - is this 2014? - the connecting door is paperthin so you can hear normal speaking... The hotel is in a great location perfectly suited for staying in whilst exploring Berlin. Our room was nice - very simple and clean. Comfortable beds and a great shower/bathroom combo. Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
