The hotel is a three star hotel and absolutely not more than that but at the same time neither less than three stars. The room was spacy as well as the bathroom and everything in the room was very clean. The hotel has friendly staff, with a very good Internet connection. 12 Mbit down and 7 up. The breakfast, which... More

Overall this hotel has an excellent location. It is near to U-bahn station (Hermann Platz), shopping places (Aldi, Karstadt and others), and eating places (India, Chinese, Donner Kebab, Italian and others). The parking is free and has plenty of spaces. The breakfast is good with a lot of selections including breads, fruits, meats (mostly pork), and various juices as well... More

Breakfast was quite rich for everyone's taste. There was a U-Bahn station 3 minutes away. The staff was really polite and the room was cleaned daily. Toilet was separately from the shower! The only problem was that we were quite far from the rooter so the Wi-Fi signal was a bit weak, but not a big problem. No sockets near... More

This hotel is good value, the rooms are clean and spacious and bathrooms are also very clean and have nice fixings. The Wifi was a bit temperamental but was great when connected. The hotel is very close to the U-Bahn station which makes it easy to get into the centre of town, but you'll definitely need to use public transport... More

I stayed in the hotel, because of the name. I play Piano! Was a little disappointed not to find a piano anywhere in there - and no other associations to good ole Ludwig. The design and artwork in the hotel is rather Mediterranean. My room was facing the main road and during the day it can get quite noisy, ok... More

This is the second time we've stayed in the Ludwig van Beethoven and we were reminded why we chose to stay here again. Big rooms, clean and free WiFi. Close to the metro. I noticed a couple of reviews commented on the area. To be honest I've never felt unsafe, this includes walking solo at night, in the area. It's... More

I have rated the hotel as 4 due to its efficiency, courteousness of staff, breakfast and cleanliness. However, due to extremely hot temperatures in Berlin last week we found the room to be too hot as there is no air conditioning so had to have the windows open. Unfortunately we were on the road side which is extremely noisy not... More

An affordable hotel, for a decent price, easy to park a car, if that is what you want, then this is the right hotel. The metro is nearby, and some nice restaurants nearby, e.g. an incredible value for money Vietnamese restaurant, just 50m away - if you want 'chique' you'll hate it, it looks cheap, and .. it is, but... Doesn't look much from outside but lovely inside and on site parking. Our room.is big and comfortable. Never known why we get single quilts for double bed....it's a German thing. This hotel is located close to shopping centers and Alexanderplatz. A few meters away is the U Hermannplatz station. It is very clean and safe. Breakfast is very good and varied. The service is excellent. You can find restaurants, cafes and mini markets nearby. It is also easy access to clubs or places to drink.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
