I have rated the hotel as 4 due to its efficiency, courteousness of staff, breakfast and cleanliness. However, due to extremely hot temperatures in Berlin last week we found the room to be too hot as there is no air conditioning so had to have the windows open. Unfortunately we were on the road side which is extremely noisy not... More

An affordable hotel, for a decent price, easy to park a car, if that is what you want, then this is the right hotel. The metro is nearby, and some nice restaurants nearby, e.g. an incredible value for money Vietnamese restaurant, just 50m away - if you want 'chique' you'll hate it, it looks cheap, and .. it is, but... Doesn't look much from outside but lovely inside and on site parking. Our room.is big and comfortable. Never known why we get single quilts for double bed....it's a German thing. Helpful on reception. Tube not far and easy to use. Great breakfast. Lovely veranda to sit out in the evening. No meals here in the evening. I didn't much like... More

This hotel is located close to shopping centers and Alexanderplatz. A few meters away is the U Hermannplatz station. It is very clean and safe. Breakfast is very good and varied. The service is excellent. You can find restaurants, cafes and mini markets nearby. It is also easy access to clubs or places to drink.

Stayed for a few days with the family (2 adults and 2 teens / aged 16). Got a fine family room with a double bed and 2 separate beds in adjacent room, good solution. Beds a little on the hard side, if you like that. Some street noise of one side (entrance side), so ask for a room facing the... More

This is a clean, well run hotel in Berlin. We easily took public transportation from TXL airport, using a bus and the metro. The cost was 2.7 Euros. If you have suitcases to lug around, check the metro stations for elevators. You can usually find one. The hotel is on a street that featured two great ethnic restaurants, one Vietnamese... More

Really lovely stay at this small budget hotel situated just south of cool Kreuzberg streets. Very clean room, comfortable and very quiet. Lovely little patio out the back of hotel, just perfect for an afternoon beer. 500m from UBahn, very easy to travel the whole city. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Couldn't have asked for more for the money.... More

Hotel Beethoven is situated on a lovely street lined with cafes. The rooms were bright, clean, and contemporary with spare furnishings and updated bathrooms. The windows swing open to let in the breeze, and the white linens are fresh and lovely. The breakfast (served daily as part of the booking) was delicious and substantial. We rented a car in Berlin,... More

We didn't expect much of the hotel...we had booked for Champions League weekend so prices at a premium and we were trying to fit in our budget. Quick and easy to get from Schonenfeld Airport. To get to centre via Ubahn super easy. Near Hermannplatz. Lots of variety at breakfast especially fruits and meats...the mini pastries were delicious. The room... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
