We were not expected to go to Berlin. We quickly decided to find a cheap 4/5-star hotel, on Hotels.com, near Branderdburger Tor. So we chose this one. We came at about 11 o'clock in the night to the hotel. When we came to the room, the minibar bottle of water was nearly empty. Then, we got a new one for... More

A modern hotel tucked away in Charlottenstrasse, easily accessible from Banhof Friedrichstrasse train station or Stadmitte station. Lots of nearby restaurants, museums and outside areas as well as easy access to other sights such as Checkpoint Charlie. Unter den Linden is just a few blocks away but unfortunately was the subject of extensive building works during my visit. However downtown... More

Hotel is situated right near Gendarmenmarkt Square, truly spectacular. Hotel is modern and staff very helpful. Rooms are nicely furnished with extra special touches. Be sure to book a room with an air conditioner if weather hot. We had temps in mid 30's and aircon was not coping. We were too hot. Staff kindly gave us two extra fans. Still... More

Stylish and modern design in the rooms as well as in the common areas in the hotel. Helpful and alert staff. Very reasonable price I wish there was AC in... More

Arrived from the airport some 2-3 hours prior to the standard check-in, but was accommodated with a room within 15 minutes. The bedroom was very bright, airy with a very high ceiling, fresh colours and a very stylish bathroom with large shower. Breakfast was a self service affair that was functional and reasonably well-stocked with a selection of food. The... More

The hotel is located just off the Gendarmenmarkt, which Berliners claim is the most beautiful square in Berlin, and is certainly a wonderful place to sit and drink coffee or eat a meal. It is also within walking distance of most, if not all, of the major sites. The hotel itself is quite small, and does not have much in... More

This hotel is very well located within walking distance of a lot of attractions as well as being easily accessed from the airport and U Bahn. The staff were very friendly and check in/out was fast and efficient. The bedroom room was clean and spacious and breakfast always fresh with a good choice. Would recommend staying

We were very pleased with the size of our room, and the bed was comfy. Nice bathroom too. Breakfast was good - bread rolls, pretzels, croissants, scrambled eggs, fresh ingredients to make yourself a sandwich ie sliced tomatoes, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon. The fruit salad was very fresh. Location wise, the hotel is great. A very short walk to Friedrichstrasse... More

There are both advantages and disadvantages living in this hotel. Advantages: 1. Friendly and welcoming staff, always well dressed and polite. 2. The room is very clean, relatively spacious and modern. 3. Stayed in a non- smoking room and it was very quite. 4. The room is well equipped and there are toiletries and slippers provided or they are available... More

I stayed at this hotel for a week in April and really enjoyed my stay. Cute hotel, not too big, and the most perfect location. The room is good size and clean, with nice shower in the bathroom. The reception was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast is very good serve in a cute room called Sunflower room. I was... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
