My first stay was at top floor, and when visiting a second time I was stayed at fourth floor. This time in a much smaller room, which was quite hot and I could not find anywhere to turn the heat down. What I really don't like is that you have to ask for wifi codes for each and everyone of... More

our first trip to Berlin and an absolute gem of a hotel, perfect location for in my opinion the best of the xmas markets at Gendarm Platz. Easy walking distance to the Brandenburg Gate, checkpoint Charlie and Museum island but the transport sysem is easy, regular and cheap to use if you prefer. Must visit the chocolatiers nearby. The hotel... More

This hotel is very modern, with clean lines. It is very close to public transportation and an easy walk to all the major points of interest. There are also many restaurants and bars in the area. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

Hotel around the corner of Gendarm Platz and a short walk to Unter den Linden and Brandenburger Tor. Breakfast good but not great. Bedroom very clean and comfortable. Lighting could be better for business travelere (small shade at desk not adequate). Small but good bathroom and shower. Fast elevator.

Inner-city Boutique Hotel situated in the centre of Berlin in the Mitte district. It is close to the Neue Kirche cathedral, the Gerdarmarkt Plaza and the U Bahn /underground stations. The chocolaterie “Fassbender & Rausch” is about one minute walk away if you are in need of subsistence. The hotel is in a modern seven storied building with a small... More

The hotel is nice and comfortable and situated in one of the best parts in Berlin! Checkpoint Charlie is only a 10-15 minute walk away, the U bahn is literally 45 seconds away if you want to explore the city and there are lots of lovely restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. In terms of the hotel itself, the... More

I was recommended this hotel by an old Berliner who has emigrated but visits often. It is a stylish hotel, centrally located off Gerdarmarkt Plaza. You can walk almost everywhere in Mitte or take a subway since it is close to two subway lines. The Business Double rooms are large and well appointed with lots of light, large desks, a... More

This was my third trip to Berlin and I think I have found my new favourite hotel. I booked two rooms for two couples over a long weekend through Expedia and got a great deal. The hotel is centrally located and very close to Stadmitte U station. The only cons with the hotel were that the rooms weren't air conditioned... More

This hotel is a great place to stay in Berlin-Mitte. Very conveniently located with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The subway is just a few steps away -- perfect if you want to explore Berlin. Good service and friendly staff -- the rooms could be a bit more spacious but they are comfortable and well appointed.

Surprisingly posh and a bigger room than expected, with a huge balcony alongside, and with a bed that was sent from heaven in which I slept like a baby this turned out to be a great business trip to Berlin. What made me surprised and a bit afraid though, was that someone was actually walking on the balcony I believed... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
