The Air in Berlin Hotel is a modern urban hotel incorporated into an art-nouveau-style Berlin building, and though situated in the heart of the City West the location is very quiet. This three-star-hotel is home to guests from all over the world. Business travellers enjoy their stay as much as tourists, families with children, and guests of all ages. Being located in the heart of City West, the Air in Berlin Hotel is a stone's throw away from the KaDeWe department store, the Ku'damm, Gedachtniskirche and Bahnhof Zoo train station. The hotel's 65 rooms are well lit, spacious, and furnished in a comfortable modern style. Some of them have a balcony or a terrace. Just around the corner you can find various bus (f.E. Bus the famous bus number 100), tube, and train-lines that will take you to all the other interesting places and sites in Berlin. We are happy to organise excursions for you (also check our suggestions for city-tours). Treat yourself to the four-star service of our three-star hotel.

I am a repeat offender to this lovely property in Berlin. I have stayed at Hotel Air in Berlin for numerous years as I travel to Berlin every March. This trip had me booked in and staying for five nights. My explanation below to clarify why I keep on returning. Apart from its great location within the city, access to all things Berlin being easy and functional, the hotel being quirky and all the other clear advantages - there is more to this hotel which I would love to share with possible future travellers looking for Berlin accommodation. Hotel Air in Berlin is owner managed, Franca and her team run the property with a lot of heart and given the chance, take time to meet and get to know them. Franca is hard working and she has managed to put together a team of loyal and long hard working people that make Hotel Air in Berlin the very special place that it is. Jenny handles the booking enquiries and ensures, should you communicate the preferred details to her, that you get a room and have a stay which is suited to your own needs. At check in, you will likely meet Andy - Andy has run the front of house at the Hotel for close on, or even over, 30 years. Don't judge a book by its cover, Andy is empathetic, well travelled and has a really good understanding of traveller needs. A small discussion with him and he will assist you in making the right choices in restaurants, where to shop for whatever needs you might have, access to the closest public transport networks and always on hand to pour you a coffee or a drink from the bar. Breakfast is served in the hotel and the morning service is managed by Theresa and Fatima - both of whom have been there for at least the past 15 years that I have been staying at the hotel. A warm smile and morning greeting goes a long way when it is true and dedicated and both of them work really hard to deliver their best service for you. The hotel operates a 24 hour reception and when returning after dinner or a night on the town, the late service is run by Sukru who is always happy to greet you with a warm smile and welcomes you back home. There are few places or services in modern day Berlin where the people truly make an effort to ensure you feel welcome. It is clear that the Hotel Air in Berlin team love what they do and certainly ensure that you feel that your custom to them is valued and appreciated. The culture of caring in customer service in a true and authentic manner is a rare find these days. Hotel Air in Berlin delivers it beautifully!

I was in Berlin for a week attending JTC 1 at DIN (the German standards national body, Deutsche Industrie Norm), and I needed a hotel close by and not wildly expensive. The Air in Berlin fit the bill. The Air is a bit of a quirky hotel; you can go through an outside area to get to the lift, or head for the stairs. My room had a bit of a high ceilinged, old fashioned feel, which was quite welcome. While there wasn't a lot of (wasted!) space, there was plenty of necessary room. It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of power points for charging devices. I unfortunately didn't manage to sample the breakfast. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Trendy? no. (wastefully) Roomy? Not especially. Comfortable? Yes. Did I sleep well? Absolutely. Convenient to DIN, the Berlin Zoo, the classic KaDeWe, the Tiergarten, the U-Bahn (Wittenbergplatz)? Yes. Recommended? Yes.

Had a lovely 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and there is luggage storage should you need it before or after check in/out. Hotel is in a great location for restaurants, bars and cafes and close to a bus stop and short walk to a train station. Would definitely visit again!

Stayed at the hotel for four nights in early September. It was a family trip( eight adults) to mark my 60th birthday . The hotel is quirky in ways. Finding rooms on the fifth floor is an adventure, to say the least. The staff were friendly, the beer was good and the location ideal. We didn't have breakfast there , so I cannot comment on that..Overall for the price, it was good value .

Andy is the best host you could wish for. I’m not a regular traveler to Germany, but this will change. He is so lovely and full of knowledge of the area. Our room was clean and had access to the rear garden. There is also an outdoor courtyard area in the middle of the building. As a first time traveler to Berlin, I felt at home with the local advice Andy was always pleased to offer. And his advise never failed to give an opportunity to explore all this beautiful city has to offer. Let’s get onto breakfast. Well, what do you want, and how much do you want? Everything catered for. Hot, cold , meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt etc, etc

Not bad but not great either. We had a standard double room. The size of the room was as expected and reasonable. Generally the room was clean except for the sofa which was clearly dusty as well as the floor underneath the mini fridge. The only real thing that bugged us about the room was how noisy it was. The hotel itself was generally quite noisy as you could hear people walking up and down the stairs/shutting doors, but our windows faced the hotel garden as well which resulted in us being woken up by people having loud conversations in the garden. As well as smoke entering our room whenever people smoked in the garden. The street itself was quiet though so we were happy about that. The location of the hotel is excellent with the U-Bahn being less than a 5 minute walk away, as well as the Kadewe being around the corner. The breakfast was kinda disappointing but okay. It provided a few types of bread, cereal, meat, cheese, yogurt and juice. So overall reasonable for the €420 or so we paid for 4 nights.

It would be hard to find a Berlin hotel that is such good value as this one. The location is on a quiet street, but the the Zoo, a bus stop and the Underground station are all within easy walking distance. The rooms might be a bit on the small side but after all it is a city hotel. The rooms themselves are clean, very comfortable and have almost everything that you might need. There's a fridge but unfortunately no way to make a cup of tea or coffee in your room although the breakfast more than makes up for that. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and ready to give advice to a visitor. Carparking at the back of the hotel is secure and well-priced. It's got an 'Old World' feel about it and I'd willingly stay here again.

Nice central hotel. The rooms were typical style and perfectly satisfactory. Breakfast was standard european buffet. There was a bar "service" at the reception desk, although not really a suitable lounge area for relaxing. Plenty of nice restaurants very close by. The hotel is also close to the city tour bus routes and so no problem getting to the nearest bus stop.

I have stayed at the "Air in Berlin" in the second weekend in December. The location is perfect: just a couple of steps to famous Gedächtniskirche and the beautiful christmas market there. Ku'damm and KaDeWe just around the corner. Easy to reach only 2 stops from Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten. Hop on bus stop around the corner at KaDeWe. The hotel is an old building with high ceilings and old fashioned doors. The rooms are clean and small (some have a funny layout with a bathroom squeezed in the middle), some are loud due to the street. The manager and staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but when the hotel is completely booked some of the guests need to carry their food to a dining room upstairs. Not recommended for people that are handicapped. The price is ok and we were completely happy with choosing "Air in Berlin" !
