We stayed at the Hotel Air in Berlin as a family, and really enjoyed it. The hotel is very well located, near the Zoo Station, the Zoo and the KaDeWe department store: a city bus outside takes you straight to the Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Unter der Linden and other major tourist attractions. Right down the street is the Wittenburgerplatz U-Bahn... More

I stayed in this hotel for 7 days on a recent trip to Berlin. This is an older hotel that has been refurbished. The rooms are adequate, even good by European standards. there is no A/C or pool, or other "American"must haves. There is a TV in the room (mostly German, but one BBC station). This just what is calls itself... More

Taking bus X9 (or 109) at the airport you will arrive at the Zoo. From there just 500m and you are in the Hotel. 200m further the untherground will take you anywhere you want to be in Berlin. In front of the hotel, the little Italian restaurant is a must do. Also pay attention to special deals 2+1 and 3+1!

I have stayed at this hotel before, and hence why we chose it for this break. We booked directly with them and got a good deal on the price. Our only disappointment was that we booked a "superior" double room and were given a standard double room (which we identified from the website). This room was very small and the... More

The hotel is certainly in a great location and is easy to travel to from the airport by bus. It is also very close to an underground station and the zoo. Our room was pleasant and the beds were comfortable. Certain areas of the hotel (and our room - bathroom was a little worn) would benefit from a lick of... More

Was there, part of a group seeing how Berlin had changed over the years. Accommodations great, food was an experience to be enjoyed. First time in Berlin, had a lot of SOS! I would highly recommend Air in Berlin, proximity to great shopping and just plain walking. If I could, I would gladly return and enjoy it again,

Recently stayed at this hotel. It's in a great location, a five minute walk from the zoo/aquarium, transport links into the centre of Berlin are close by and there are also various shops/cafes/restaurants nearby. I would give the location of this hotel 10 out of 10. The rooms are clean and comfortable although quite small, the bathroom was small too... More

We had a great stay during a visit to Berlin. Hospitable and welcome are keywords. The room was quite small, but clean. We mostly visited the city, so the size didn't matter. The hotel is next to the KaDeWe and the Wittenbergenplatz. From here you can go all around the city by metro (U-bahn). Breakfast is simple, but tasty

A great hotel in a very handy location. Ideal for couples and the room was always clean and mini bar very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, or use again next time.

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
