I am an accor gold card holder, and i can honestly say this is the most appalling accor experience I have had. The room was marketed as having wifi. Well, it didn't. Yet when I asked the staff about this - they spoke to me as if I was being unreasonable and an inconvenience. I even saw one staff member... More

If you like to get no aircon when it's hot, if you like to wait hours about the lift, and if you don't care if the web network is not working ...so you will enjoy this hotel !Breakfast is good.Employee can be very nice or rude, it depends who will be at the front desk.So far from the level of... Unfriendly staff. Shabby condition. The hotel front desk is very arrogant. They cancelled my booking with no reason and did not even inform me. The front desk staff was acting like making me a huge favor to rebook it. The hotel does not even have air con which is totally unbearable to stay at a hot summer day. Pls don't... More

We spent 2 nights in the hotel. It is situated near a supermarket and Argentinian Steak house a block away. A cafe next door and bus stop close by. Trams are on one side of the hotel and can be noisy but we were on the same side of the building as the front door and weren't disturbed by traffic... More

I was visiting Berlin for the first time and decided to book at the Mercure Am Alexanderplatz. As soon as I arrived and saw my room I knew I had picked the right hotel! The hotel is located 5/10 minutes walk away from Alexanderplatz. The hotel is very clean and well decorated, so are the rooms. I had a huge... More

Good hotel in a very central location. I will admit it does need updating externally and internally (mainly hall ways) we stayed in a more updated room although carpets and paintwork need doing but the feature wall paper was lovely. Very large rooms with a balcony. Shower cubicle is kind of small and the door was quite flimsy. We felt... More

The best thing in this hotel is its location which is close to all the shopping and touristic areas. I was in a business trip and all places i Berlin was reachable. Also I had enough time to do shopping at many stores very close to the hotel.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
