I've been staying at the Residenz since the 1980s (when it was in West Berlin!). The standard has stayed high and they always make you welcome. The rooms are all a little different (some large, some less so) and have plenty of character. It's not fancy but it's very comfortable and affordable. I shall return!

We stayed at the Hotel Residenz in Berlin for two nights and enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very cute with ornamental high ceilings and many original old furnishings. It felt very classical and it has a nice personality instead of the typical anonymous modern hotels. Our room was nice with a 4 meter high ceilings with plaster carvings in... More

We stayed here five nights over the New Year. We were with a tour group from Travel for the Arts to see three operas. The hotel is excellently placed for the opera houses and for the great shops of the Kurfurstendamm. The rooms were comfortable but not outstanding, but the hotel was well furnished. Only complaint would be that there... More

We stayed for 3 nights in this quite intimate hotel close to main shopping area and with good subway/bus connections to all directions. At least on 5th floor the rooms were newly renovated but we expected a bit better beds and pillows. Otherwise everything was clean and OK. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast of normal standard at least for... More

Lovely hotel with great period features. Spacious room with comfy bed. Friendly staff. Breakfast typical continental choices but all really fresh. Short walk to the Kurfurstendamm and U bahn stations so easy access to all Berlin has to offer.

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great central location in Berlin. Ideally located for shopping. Great rooms, bright and airy, high ceilings, spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. All the staff had first class English. Excellent breakfast. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Concept and interior are really well-down. And a well kept hotel and newly renovated, e.g. the bathrooms. Good service (got a free upgrade:-)). 2 min away from U-bahn and Kurfürstendamm. You have several good restaurants within 100m. Breakfast was fine and with a wide selection

The first encounter was the friendly receptionist that checked us in. And not just her, all the receptionists through out our 4 days stay were always friendly, patient and friendly. The hotel has a unique atmosphere, which makes you feel pleasant and comfortable. The room was good in size and very clean. The location, is a bit far from the... More

This is surdenly a hotel that I would like to visit again. Great location very close to Kurfürstendamm and shops, restaurants and bars. Oldfashion and cosy decoration and atmosphere. Excellent service form the staff. Large, clean and quiet rooms with everything one needs. Even a small kitchen. Good value for money.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
