Lovely decorated jugendstyle hotel just a few minutes walk away from the Kurfürstendamm! Calm and nice atmosphere, beautiful and spacious rooms with high ceilings and stuccature. Nice beds! Always quiet and nice, we always have a good night sleep here. The staff are friendly and helpful. Several lovely restaurants in the neighbourhood. Parkingpossibilities in the street outside. We will definitely... More

A great hotel just off Kurfürstendamm yet in such a quiet tree lined street. Classic style with wonderful decor. Friendly efficient service with a smile. Room was simple clean and large in proportion to many hotels. Great bar and tasty satisfying breakfast. All in all a perfect place to stay for 1 or more nights in Berlin. Surrounded by good... More

We spent 3 nights in Hotel Residenz in May. Beautiful, small, clean boutique hotel in a quiet Berlin neighborhood. Excellent restaurants (Italian and German) across and down the street. Excellent location, close to public transportation and shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff, outstanding breakfast. Hotel Residenz also has its own restaurant and very cozy and welcoming bar area. Highly recommended!

A real step back in time in a quiet side street off the main Ku'damm so ideal location for underground, walking, shopping, eating out etc. we've stayed in Berlin 9 times now and this is probably the best small hotel we've stayed in based on location. The rooms and bathroom were a little small and there was no air conditioning,... More

Have not long returned from a a week`s stay in the Hotel Residenz. On a previous trip to Berlin we chose a very modern hotel, but this time we decided to opt for the Residenz, choosing a superior room. We were delighted to be given a large room on the 5th floor which had a wonderful outlook over the roofs... More

We stayed at he Hotel Residenz for four nights. This hotel was easy to find from the zoologische Garten train station/underground. This was great for travel from Schonefeld airport as there was a direct train to this station. The hotel and our room was exceptionally clean. The room was not massive but more than adequate for the time we were... More

I chose this hotel on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews, then started to worry when I saw a few negative ones creeping in. Well I didn't need to, as the hotel was great. We stayed for 4 nights just before Christmas. Berlin was cold, wet and windy, but the hotel was warm and cosy. We booked superior rooms, and I... More

Hotel Residenz is an older style hotel which has been tastefully modernised. It has much to commend it. Firstly the location is excellent, in the heart of the city, close to restaurants and shops and, even more important, within walking distance of the Zoo underground station. You can get a train direct to Schonefeld airport which, incidentally, must be one... More

Stayed here December 2014 for three nights. Reception, interior and room interior very classic design and well maintained. Comfortable beds, modern bathroom. Staff very caring and helpful. Breakfast is no big deal, it can be found better and cheaper outside the Hotel. Drawbacks are that rooms are badly lit up and that it's difficult to get a working mobile phone... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
