This past week we stayed at the Residenz Berlin for the second time. It isa gem in the centre of Berlin. It is cosy, elegant and the staff are friendly and helpful. We will certainly recommend it to friends.

Hotel Residenz is an older style hotel which has been tastefully modernised. It has much to commend it. Firstly the location is excellent, in the heart of the city, close to restaurants and shops and, even more important, within walking distance of the Zoo underground station. You can get a train direct to Schonefeld airport which, incidentally, must be one... More

Stayed here December 2014 for three nights. Reception, interior and room interior very classic design and well maintained. Comfortable beds, modern bathroom. Staff very caring and helpful. Breakfast is no big deal, it can be found better and cheaper outside the Hotel. Drawbacks are that rooms are badly lit up and that it's difficult to get a working mobile phone... More

Old-fashioned and cosy hotel in a side road to Kurfürstendamm. We felt very welcome by the friendly staff. The rooms were nice and clean, but slightly dark. The hotel's location is perfect: We walked to both Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charlie and different museums. Some of the walks are maybe a bit too long, especially if you bring kids along, but... We really enjoyed our stay at the Residenz. Excellent location in a quiet leafy street off Kurfurstendamm, so good for shopping and great for all transport links. Hotel full of character, with a nice atmosphere in the bar and lounge. We had a lovely room (definitely worth the upgrade) Others have mentioned that the staff weren't particularly friendly, but I... Just round the corner is the main shopping street and also there is a good connectivity to public transport,to a supermarket, to good italian and other restaurants and café. As opposed to most hotels, there is some atmosphere here for sure, thanks to old building and romantic decorations. We stayed in a room that seems to have been part of a bigger apartment in the old days, and the decorations were quaint in a harmonic way, like an old lady. One disadvantage is that the bathroom was really small,... More

Stayed here for 3 nights when in Berlin for business. The room was big and clean. The staff was very welcoming and nice. Breakfast was the same as every where else. Nice staff in the bar. Hotel is not very central.0

We choose this hotel due to the recommendations of others. I really doubt that they have stayed here. This hotel is really rubbish with rude staff with the exception of the guy in the bar. The Asian boy on the desk on our arrival was a real shock, rudest reception I have ever received and when i spoke to him... More

I have stayed only one day. The room was quite small but the building was fantastic. If you walk 3 minutes, you will find yourself in the centre of the city. ıf you do expect the soul from the hotel you stayed i can recommend this hotel.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
