On our last trip to Berlin we decided to go do the "budget" stay. Well, let me tell you about this place, first of all it is not all bad, the location is great, the person that received us was nice and friendly, the room was spacious, had a bed, living area and kitchen, however a few things you should... Stayed here for 2 nights in March. First impressions, what have we booked here? It looks very shabby and I wouldn't of known it was there unless the taxi driver said so. Not looking promising from outside. Man on reception was great, very helpful. The room was a 2 bed apartment with 2 sofas acting as beds in the living... More

This apartments are not the greatest, but they are cheap and have a nice location on Potsdamer platz with only a 2 minutes walk from the U-bahn. When you room an apartment here, it is all about being lucky. We had4 apartments and 3 of them was renovated, one of them was not. One of our rooms were booked for... More

Should have checked Travel Advisor but my travel partner made the reservation through another service. In a building covered with graffiti and a couple of miles from most attractions. Perhaps a safe neighborhood but did not appear to be. We had "the penthouse" 11 flights of steps and no elevator! Stayed for the clothes washer but no soap or dryer... More

The room is comfortable and well equipped. There are parking spaces available if you need one. Wifi is fast and quite stable. Kitchen is well equipped too. The bed, pillow and duvet are really comfortable.

a decent size, no-frills apartment, if you are looking for a budget and quiet place to stay in a good location. This place is an all-IKEA equipped apartment with most of the basics you need, but (free) wifi is un-usably slow, parking is extra (and adds up if you are staying longer), and the place shows some wear and tear.

The standard of both the building, the room and the interior is very low and not worth the money. Our room smelled of vomit, urin and alcohol. Both the gate and the entrance were unlocked at night and the door into the room was paper thin. No fire escapes. Unpleasant no-canselation policy.

terrible management, arrived with suitcases and no one at the office. very unkind, dishwasher in the room was filled with dirty dishes. our room was not as we ordered. the owner threatened if we don't pay he will turn off the hot water of the room. not reccommended, at this price u can surely find something a whole lot better... Cleaning standards were not very high. Good location but the check in and out process was challenging. They need to welcome guests with a more friendly approach. we could not return the keys the day of the check out because nobody was in the office and they did not have a letter box to deposit the keys.

it was a complete robbery, offered an apartment in the sixth floor with no elevator. my friend had a medical condition and it was impossible for him to go up 6 floors every time. the apartment itself is nothing but a small room cut in half by a curtain. and the closet was broken and it looked dirty. I gave... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
