We stayed in one of the private rooms at Huettenpalast and we couldn't have asked for more. The room was spacious and very very clean. It was comfortable, and the staff welcomed us in a friendly and helpful manner when we arrived. Huettenpalast is in a great location, and we were able to walk to the nearest station in a... More

We stayed 4 nights in a hotel room here. Friends stayed in the caravan section. Much preferred the hotel rooms, But the caravans could be fun if you rented a few with friends. The room was basic, but large, spotless and stylish, with high ceilings and huge Windows. Lovely staff who went above and beyond. Conveniently located near subway and... More

loved the creativity of this hostel. It was fun to come home each night into my cozy trailer, especially considering I visited in September when the weather was rainy and chilly. It was open enough to meet other travelers but also private if you wanted to be on your own. I didnt get the chance to eat in the cafe.... More

I went to this "hotel" with a friend and was really glad we did! The service is great as the staff&owner are really nice and glad to help you with any information you need. They make you feel welcomed and are totally helpful from beginning (when we booked per email) to the very end. There also is free wifi. The... More

This is one creative hotel. Your "room" is actually a caravan. This is a funny concept, it´s cheap and it´s fresh! The service is great and the staff/owner is fantastic. On the negative side it´s a bit of the city center (but that´s just my personal preference). Enjoy

Our family (travelling with our three children, ages 13, 13 and 12) stayed in two caravans for a half-term holiday. The kids were enchanted with the different caravans and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. There is a lack of privacy but you wouldn't expect privacy if camping in the open air in a similar space. The... More

As traveling couple, we have been looking for a place to stay already in Berlin. We've chosen this option due to recommendation from another hotel, and relatively high ratings on the TripAdvisor website. We have been offered a double room instead of a caravan accommodation. This option met absolutely NO VALUE-FOR-MONEY expectations at all! The overall look of the room... More

Huettenpalast has a great shared garden for your use in the nice weather, and very fun and well-kept caravans for sleeping. The communal showers are clean and the water pressure is strong and gets plenty hot, which was fantastic. We stayed in Schwalbanest caravan and loved it. The bedding and ambiance were great. The neighborhood is urban and artsy, about... More

We rode the bus from Warsaw to Berlin and showed up at 9am in Berlin exhausted from a sleepless bus ride. We had booked "little sister" and we're hoping to be able to drop off our bags. The owner was so nice. She told us the people that were staying in would probably be leaving soon if we wanted to... More

Do some research on this place so you know what you're going to! Hüttenpalast is a café/restaurant, a coworkingspace and a hotel, placed in an unassuming residential neighbourhood close to Hermannplatz in the Neuköllndistrict. Although they have traditional rooms, what we came for were the caravans. We were given the Herzenbrecher (heartvbreaker), a squeaky and charming caravan from 1959, renovated... More

Staying in Neukolln

Neighborhood Profile
Neukolln
No Berlin neighborhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as "Little Istanbul." Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
