We wanted a hotel where we could leave our car while we went sightseeing. Reviews on TA were good. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is in a residential apartment block. Our room was small and reasonably well furnished (although bedside cupboards would have been useful). The bathroom was tiny, but designed so shower, sink and lavatory pan all fitted in... More

There really aren't any words to accurately describe Hotel Hansablick. It's in a residential building close to the Tiergarten S-bahn (so very good train connections) and the Tiergarten (obviously). My single room looked like it was decorated for a teenage boy in the 70s (minus posters) and could probably do with a spot of maintenance, but it was clean, warm... More

First impression a little disappointed, opened the front door and up the stairs, and suddenly we were in a different world. It was modern and bright with wonderful art everywhere and lovely friendly good-humoured staff. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a view of the river through the trees. Breakfasts were excellent and the hotel was a short... More

We stayed in several different rooms here during our visits to Berlin and all were comfortable, though wifi seemed to be best in the rooms closest to the lobby. Plenty of free street parking out front and in the surrounding neighborhood. We enjoyed the location near the Tierpark and Tierpark S-bahn stop. Just a few blocks away is a KPM... More

As I entered the building, I was immediately greeted by intricate arches on the ceiling. The lobby was well lit, the staff were angelic. When I walked thorough the corridor to go to my room, the floor creaked with every step. I thought to myself: this place is BREATHING memories. The location was smack dab at the most convenient place... More

I traveled with a good friend and my 90 year old father. We loved this place. So many Hotels look and feel alike and all seem the same. Not with Hansablick. From the moment we walked into the art noveau building and its art filled reception area (that feels like walking into a lovely living room with high ceilings and... More

This guest house is set in an old building but the rooms are smart, tasteful and very clean. Breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff is terrific. I prefer boutique accommodation places rather than large impersonal hotels and this one was perfect. A 4 minute walk to bus and train stops. Perfect!

Loved our stay here, the staff were so helpful, and their Eglish was good, they even helped my partner with his German. Fantastic buffet breakfasts, clean spacious rooms in an old building with high ceilings. Close to railway station so very convenient. Only quibble for me was the bed and pillows were very firm, but got used to it after... More

This is a very simple hotel but able to attend all your needs if you are nit expecting any luxury: good location, friendly staff, spacious room and pretty cheap breakfast. My only complaint is related to quality of sleep: pillows were bad; there were no blackout curtains on the windows; and it is impossible to wake up late due to... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
