This hotel has clean rooms and is a great location in Berlin. It is a short walk to the train station. We had a large group so we were split up around the hotel in the different buildings which was a negative for me since I had a high school group. The neighborhood was very quiet at night at we... I stayed in this hotel for 5 days. It cost me approx. 25 Euro/Night, incl. breakfast, in a single room - that is good value form money. The single room was actually a 3-bed-room, clean and spacious. The bath was clean and everything working. TV was avarage. No fridge. WLan access was working, but slow: Enough to read emails, but... More

I stayed in this hotel for three nights in November 2014. The hotel is straightforward with good room facilities and continental breakfast. My room was on the 4th floor towards the back and was clean and quiet. The reception staff were helpful and spoke good English. The hotel has free wi-fi. The hotel is a short walk from Berlin's main... More

I stayed in the Novum Hotel Gates for four nights in September 2014. The facilities of this hotel are simple and straightforward, but it is inexpensive and is centrally positioned, not far from Berlins most popular facilities. The room I was given was fairly small, the bed was not very comfortable, I could not find a hotel bar or restaurant,... More

close to metro station - comfortable bathroom and wc-bathroom & bed - noisy floors from the upstairs activity - the reception was quite abrapt and distant - expensive breakfast - hot water after 4-5 min delay.

The hotel was very well placed for travelling around Berlin by both train and bus and in a lovely quiet location. A wide choice of restaurants within easy walking distance. The rooms were large, well equipped and the buffet breakfast was excellent. We travelled with a group and there was no bar or lounge in which to gather. Otherwise very... More

This is a very poor Hotel, bath is not cleaned, room tiny and equipped with an old bed directly in the floor with a dirty and smelly carpet. Bathroom small and crappy! The Staff at the reception is unfriendly. TOO EXPENSIVE! NOT RECOMMENDABLE!

The room we got was larger by far than ever seen for 4 people. It actually could accomodate 5 . The bathroom had 2 sinks. Very pleasant, and suitable for a family. Excellent location, very nice staff. It took about 10 mnts to walk to Kudam. Excellent value.

This hotel is excellent for tourists on a budget who value good connections in a beautiful and quiet area close to Kurfurstendamm. If you arrive in Berlin to Tegel airport - congratulations! This hotel has excellent airport connections as the X9 airport bus stops at Ernst Reuter Platz from which there's only a short walk to the hotel. The hotel's... More

Stayed here a few times now. Not my hotel of choice in Berlin necessarily but it often has great offers and I am happy to spend the money I save elsewhere in the city. A comfortable, clean 3 star hotel with easy access to the underground (U2 Ernst-Reuter-Platz) and nice restaurant area around Savigny Platz. No air conditioning in rooms... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
